Before I trim down the sim does anyone know if it will work in an Ipad mini locked to 3?

With ref to an above post, I have the sim working perfectly in a STAR (S3 clone)

I have heard about STAR S3 at gizchina.com and aliexpress.
Then saw a Lenovo A820 at etotalk.com at a big discount. $120. They also rooted the phone and installed new ROM and some English apps. $177.85 total incl DHL.

Did you have to set up a new APN in 'Mobile network settings' ? If so, what did you use? Thanks

I didn't have to do anything..just slid it in next to a contract sim. I does ask you which one you want to use for voice/text/data etc.

It is free but it is complete waste of time.
If you think that you could stay on your PC for so many hours and then just get 20-30MB then it might be for you.

Your cost : Opportunity cost siting hours in front of computer, electricity, depreciation cost of you r computer. Is it worthy ? I believe people could easily draw conclusion...

Initially it is promising but after several days you could only earn so little credit.

This month I have earned 765mb of data so far (18th sep).
That's 42mb a day and I only look at ads for a few minutes in the morning, again at lunch time and Once more in the evening.
Over the last 7ish months we have accrued about 9.5GB so the amount you earn in any given month/or day is not fixed.

Give it a chance, it will soon add up.

No need to leave your computer running all the time or anything. You can easily have two browser windows open so that you can check your emails etc in one pane and click on the samba ads in the other.

As for depreciation of your computer, you would have it anyway, you didn't buy it to merely view samba ads.

It seems to me it would be ideal for students to have . They can top it up when home for the hols and when on the uni wifi or in those take away wifi hotspots. No need to have the sim with them or even to install the 'battery plugin' for viewing the ads.

You start with an exaggeration. It's not true that you'd spend hours earning 20 or 30 MB. Most adverts are 30 seconds, some more are a minute to one and a half, and usually there are only a couple of 3 to 5 minutes.

As for the discussion you point to, there seem to be some new users with intensive use for a few days, then they've not been presented with many.

What they haven't yet realised is perhaps there is some arrangement to show a certain advert only a certain number of times to each user, and that there isn't an infinite supply of new ones. If they relax a bit, they will find there will be a steady amount.

People who have modest regular or occasional intense data use may find Samba an interesting option, though it's true those who need several gigabytes every month may be disappointed.
