Thanks, think I'll get an unlocked one then for £20ish and buy just the sim off Samba. That way if it ends up being a poor service or doesn't meet my needs I can still use the dongle with a different provider :).
check earlier posts in this thread. you can get a better spec Wahwei (?) dongle for £10 from currys and get an unlock code for £1 from eBay.
Three weeks ago I bought a SIM for only £1 through link from this site.

Even that seems expensive. I bought a new Three dongle for £10 including a Gb of credit a couple of years ago.

I have no use for it any more.

Anyone with chrome can install extension 'adblock'. As I click on an ad to watch, it blocks the video and I still get the credit.

I have yet to watch an actual ad.
Save saynoto0870.com in your favorites, and stop giving companies more £££ dialling 0870 numbers when you can dial freephones or cheaper alternatives

For anyone wanting to reduce mb usage whilst out and about. Turning off images and javascript has me using 30mb for a few hours out and about.

  • I checked before 15:00 and it showed just shy of 200 Mb. I then went shopping and when I got home there were around 63 Mb available, at the moments is 86.1 Mb. I did not actually do anything in between.

    Completely random.

Have you got automatic updates enabled on your computer?

Nope. I know what you are thinking - automatic updates in the background might drain my Mbs.

I go to the library to download things like podcasts and updates.

Yep - a service pack would gobble up the lot.

It's got to be something like that...

I have been in front of a computer screen for most of the day since around 1980. Apart from sleeping on occasion. I sort of know what is good and what is bad for the Mb count.

I used to buy 15Gb from Three until recently and used to download like a maniac. No problem. On Samba 1Gb runs out in a couple of days.

If you've known about computers since 1980 then I would expect you to know the difference between an Mb and an MB...:)
