Yes it's 17.0.1. I always update it as soon as an update is available.
  • Thanks Uplink and Prowla. I would have thanked you but cannot. Maybe I have been banned or something.

You obviously have a problem with your PC configuration/set-up!

OK... then it should just work. Did you install any funny extensions in Firefox? Any chance that somebody put a proxy on your network and is messing about with traffic? Viruses of any kind? I'm running out of normal ideas, so I'm straying into paranoia land :)

Each time somebody says that Samba causes them problems, I open up Firefox and watch an ad just to make sure Samba isn't having a screw up day before I reply. I did the same yesterday, and it worked fine... Did the same just now.

I had Avast Webrep and DoNotTrackMe which I have disabled, but that hasn't made any difference after rebooting.

No chance that anyone has done anything as I am the only one that uses the pc at home. No viruses or malware and everything is up to date as I check every couple of days.

Managed to watch 2 ads tonight and that was with logging out and logging back in.

I thought it had been a glitch when I came online tonight as there was a full screen of ads. However I wasn't logged in and as soon as I did they all disappeared.

Edit - I have just installed Safari and getting exactly the same with that. 4 "ads" showing - refer a friend, cash top up, sign up to Secret Escapes and Rise Guardians which has expired.

OK, it does appear there's something at Samba's end. I was browsing around, and this idea came to me:

    1. Log into your Samba account
    2. Go into "MySamba" (where the "Login" link was)
    3. Select "My Profile" and look at the settings there, especially the interest sliders.

What do you have there? They're not all at the left hopefully. If they are, just drag them to the right. If they're already at the right, click "edit" and then just "save" (possibly wiggle the sliders about a bit, in case they need to change before you can save them properly).

If the all the settings there look OK, I'm stumped. Go ask Samba why you don't see any ads.

Just to see if those sliders have any effect, I dragged mine to the left for a second, but they didn't have any impact. I guess they don't take effect instantly.

i had no problems getting credit there is the odd ad that fails to load or times-out but most are fine, i got about 500mb of data now (only need less then 30mb an month

i make it bigger opera.com at the bottom left of the screen there is an speed dial press it that will turn on compression by up to 90% and "Load Plug on demand" is enabled so Flash or java only loads if you click on them saving loads in data

if you in Chrome, Tools , settings > Show adv settings > Content settings > change it to "Click to Play" (no more flash ads eating data) just make sure you press the Puzzle at the top right in the bar and allow sambamobile site so you do not have to keep on clicking on the ad to start it (i have only ever used Chrome to watch the ads)

firefox can also "do click to play" as well but think its still an hidden setting

i think the sliders in the options are there for marketing information as it also asks where you shop at the most

and use promo code EHU11 to get sims for £1 and the dongle for £20 (ignore the email that they have charged you £25 as it seems its just an automated email, if you pay using paypal you see it only charged you £20 for the dondle+sim and £1 for each sim)

i love it that you can use 3 Sims per acount

if you use less then 300mb or (500mb data only) an month then i recommend ovivomobile.com its less fuss and more reliable network (Vodafone well 2g is king any way, 3g only little bit better then Three)

not really sure how ovivo business model works as i have had little in ad in email , one off payment £10 for the sim and you get 100V/100T/300mb or 500mb (data only) per month for free

Absolutely correct. No chance of even get a little bit of credit. Samba wants cash.

I checked all my settings again last night and all the sliders were to the right.

I did contact Samba and they replied that Samba do not promise unlimited mobile broadband and on average you can expect 1.5 -2GB per month spread out over the month.

However the FAQ state that there is no limit to the amount of credit you can earn and it is unlikely that you will run out of ads.
