Than that's the way to go for sure, Part Mouse!!!! I'm so glad to see you're pushing ahead with fruit and veg, don't forget the water as it helps with the cravings and with stopping you eat too much snacky food.
Keep with us this time, PM, as I've a really good feeling about you!!! :j Don't forget, you've gone a LOT of hours already today and that's so much to loo forward to as any of us know. Keep right on staying strong and always remember.....you are never alone!!! Others know just how you're feeling and we all know how you'll feel once you achieve your dream!!!!!! :grinheart
We are ALL behind you willing you on, just always remember that.
Hugs, Sue xxxIf you have a goal then just keep thinking of that, mine is my daughters wedding next year and she comes before any fag
Hi anablle and VERY well done!!!! :T So close to.....well, you know what. I never say it before it's here for fear of jinxing things. What a goal you have to head to!!
Anyone who doesn't expect a few tears and tantrums along the way has never smoked - or stopped smoking, but all of us here understand what it's like so give way to both as it doesn't do any good at all to suppress the feelings. Have a good old cry when you feel like it - and if you want to shout or scream - hold a pillow in front of your face and scream into it as much as you like as no one's going to hear as the pillow absorbs the sound. Just don't forget to take the pillow away afterwards!!!! :rotfl:
I'm thrilled that you're benefitting from the thread, though to be fair warez is brilliant with her help and advice....so too are you ALL as you can be sure that just being here and posting is helping others! Even those who aren't on here with us; bless them, they still lurk and read and stop with you all!! The times I've had PMs to say "I stopped smoking ages ago and it's all down to those who have posted on here and their inspirational posts!!! is amazing!
Keep motivated, anablle and always stay strong and focused!!!

That's spot on, warez!! I've always believed that switching to beautiful memories or thoughts when a craving or 'thought' comes along will help us through those times so mcu better than anything else.
Hugs, Sue xxx
To everyone, including all lurkers I close right now with the encouraging words of anablle (1st), Part Mouse (2nd) and warez (3rd), please take note of them all.

So do I, Part Mouse, I promise you as I know all too well just how desperately you'd LOVE to be free of them!
I just have a feeling about this time as you're going CT and that's how you made it before, apart from that, you wouldn't keep coming to the threads we've had in the past if you didn't really want this!! :grinheart
I never, ever thought I'd be able to quit, but I did it, you can too and I think you know that. Go on, PM, this time! Don't forget the exercise as it'll do you a power of good and get the endorphins released into your brain and make you feel so happy!!! :j
Stay strong, positive and keep reading the parts of my PM that apply to you. There are a lot of people here this time, all wanting the same as you! You be with them in every way!!!

Morning All!
Had a good day yesterday. No real desire to smoke, still got that restless feeling, but nothing major.
I am obssessed with googling all things about smoking and what is happening to my body through the giving up process and find that it helps if I am waivering.
After today is over, this is the longest I have EVER gone without fags in my adult life. How cool is that.:T
Good luck everyone today, one day at a time.
When you think about it, it is quite simple isnt it. If you want to give up you will, if you don't you won't. And do you know what I DO! I sign up to living not a living death.Smoke Free since 1 January 20130 -

Morning everyone!
So.....are you still FREE, Part Mouse??! If so then I'm absolutely delighted for you!!!!! :T Don't worry too much about the cravings as - the more you fret about them the worse they'll hit in! Just keep yourself as busy as possible and work through them, that truly is the very BEST way!
Ask warez, she'll tell you! She's doing it the same way as you, CT.
Have a good 2nd day, PM!!!!! We're all with YOU!

WOW, the days are flying by, warez!!!!! :T More than that, I'm not commenting on until tomorrow. The restlessness will soon pass by, it's just you still being a bit jumpy due to your body NOT getting old nic in it!!!!! :j
I just LOVE your last paragraph!!
Hugs, Sue xx
Here we go, folks, more extremely wise thoughts from warez to close with. BTW, she's too busy thinking up words of advice to you ALL to worry about missing those nasty wee beasties!!

Hi, can i join in please?
All your stories are so inspirational and its great to see everyone supporting each other!!
I smoked 15-20 a day for over 20 years and wished that one day I would be brave enough to kick the nasty habit that controlled so much of my life!! Well.....that day has been and gone and I am now on day 4 of my smoke free future :j :j ....I will win, for that I am determined, its early days but 4 days further than I have ever been!!
In all honesty nicotine withdrawal has not been so much of a problem, its the intense feeling of loss and not being able to fill the gaps of a day!! Sounds a little mad but I feel like the days are like chapters in a book without any punctuation!!....does this make any sense??!!?
....one day at a time!!
Allen Carr's easy way!!0 -
Well done to everyone, you are all doing fantastically well.
I've fallen off the wagon a little but I am determined to put an end to this smoking lark once and for all.0 -

Hello and a very warm welcome, kiaweeze! Congratulations on being FOUR days into your stopping journey!!!! :T This is the best journey you'll ever make in your life as it gives you back LIFE - YOURS!!!!
All of us who have stopped smoking know full well how momentous 4 days free is, you've done fantastically and deserve to be so proud of yourself!!!
Don't worry about the feeling of loss, it's natural and you're normal!!! We all go through it, I didn't even know what the feeling was until years after I quit, then it suddenly downed on me that it was grief!! Grieving for 'my friend' the fags! Utter rubbish really, but that's just what it is...the only difference being that it was a 'bad friend' and you've done so well in kicking him (old Nic) out of your life....to make room for YOURS!1! :j I'll send you a PM in a moment which also deals with the loss, though I think I've put most of it above anyway.
warez is quitting via Alan Carr too and she's doing amazingly well, now it's your turn...though as you've already started all I can say is WELL DONE!!!
Start each day with the Quitters Pledge"Today I promise not to smoke any cigarettes, tomorrow - if I wish - I may do."Renew the pledge every morning on waking. This helps in not making quitting feel as though you're planning something lifelong, it helps trick the mind in taking it all one day at a time. The lifelong part you determine for yourself when you're ready.
All best wishes to you, kiaweeze!!! Talk to us here on the thread, good or bad, you can spill it all out here. Just keep on going..one day at a time!
Hugs, Sue x
Hi babes! Always hang onto and remember your last few words! You CAN do this, but why not come on the thread more often so you stay motivated.
How big was the blip? IF it was only 1 or 2 then, let it go and move on from where you got to. Any more might just give others the impression it's ok, whereas it isn't.
Keep strong and focused and please, beware of alcohol at this very vulnerable time as it can make you do things you don't want to!!

Kiaweeze
Welcome! You are on day 4 already so are well on your way. Try reading Allen Carr on a loop, or even just a couple of pages every time you are feeling restless.
I have an elastic band around my wrist, everytime I am absolutely convinced that I am going to have a fag I ping the band really hard. God does it hurt, but I am too busy looking at the red welt I have just made to thinking about the fact that I wanted a fag a minute ago. Verging on self-harm I know, but not as self-harm as fags!
Try keeping yourself busy by doing all those little jobs that you never got round to doing, cos you were too busy smoking.
Religiously post on here, pride is a wonderful incentive and even though it is cyberspace, the duty I feel to do well for Sue has helped me enormously.
Good luck, you can do, you have got further than a lot of people would so well done you.:)

The fact that you are still posting on here means you are still in the game so never give up on giving up! Good luck.Smoke Free since 1 January 20130
