Brilliant news that Day 3 is near an end, determined, VERY well done!!! :T
Perhaps prophecy_grrl's busy pushing herself into cleaning or something similar as most of us have done on stopping.
Re the boredom when sitting at home, any good suggesting trying knitting, crochet or sewing; anything similar to keep the hands busy and the brain engaged? Try hard to think of something you like..or might like. I started learning a new language, you'd be surprised how interesting that can be, now I'm onto French.
Amazing how much time fags stole so much time from our lives, not any more!
All the best for another day with the Pledge leading you, D!Well done with the running, it's marvellous for the lungs!!

Day 4 :j still feels a little hard, but am now counting on very soon it will feel a lot easier for the majority of the time, and just need to work out some strategies for situations where I have fallen before. Last time it was at a festival, the weather was hot, we had been drinking and *everyone* seemed to be enjoying smoking. However prior to going to the festival it had been on my mind to smoke
and then the drinking lowered my resolve.... luckily (or not as the case may be) that scenario is a year away now...
Today's goals:
1. ride by bike to work, free, helps with weight control and increasing fitness
2. eat ice poles and satsumas throughout the day and not have choc or crisps! Think I will leave my purse at home to facilitate this!
3. Go for a run this evening in the woods
4. I think I might dig out the sewing machine as I do have a project I have been putting off :T
So far I have not smoked 68 cigs! :j and have saved £5.47 :T its amazing how easy it is to have NSDs when your not running out for cigs, rizlas and lighters all the time :T
still have the tight feeling in my chest and that something isn't quite right. Onwards and upwardsDF as at 30/12/16
Wombling 2025: £87.12
NSD March: YTD: 35
Grocery spend challenge March £253.38/£285 £20/£70 Eating out
GC annual £449.80/£4500
Eating out budget: £55/£420
Extra cash earned 2025: £1950 -

Another day to seize, determined, another day NOT taken away from you by old Nic!!! You're free from nicotine now and there's only the psychological side to blast now which shouldn't be too difficult if, with every step you take, you stamp old Nic all the way out of your life! No longer will you allow it to dictate your every move, and if you can go for almost 4 days - you can rid yourself of all that has related to fags!
You're 3 Days through with the 4th in the making, and doesn't it ever feel sooooo good!!!! :j :T :j
Goal No 4 will be a great move! All of them are really good, but if you can occupy hands and mind at home - brilliant!
If you don't need the cash saved then why not put it somewhere you can see it, it's great motivation. 68 cigs NOT smoked is terrific news!
The tight feeling in your chest and feeling that something isn't quite right could all be down to nerves and excitement due to having stopped.
Work hard at those strategies, they are so important in getting you past previous times, but you can do it and I'm sure you will!
Onward and upward indeed, D and if you can keep away from alcohol while you're vulnerable all the better.

You may not realise it but after 3 days you are free of nicotine addiction if you had your lungs checked for C02 content you would be down from 25% to near zero.all you are missing now is fiddling with your hands and sticking something in your mouth at regular intervals. That is not an addiction it is a habit.
Stay with it you are well on the way to be free of fags, healthier.richer, and a little bit smug when you say.Er no thanks I don't smoke.0 -

Hi Dennis thanks for your MSG, yes I do realise that the nicotine has gone now :j however I do become a bit of a fruit loop for a little while after stopping smoking, not sure why this happens to me? But sadly it doesI become really needy and emotional, family stuff has ben taking it out of me and maybe I would be feeling like this without the giving up smoking, however it always happens when I give up smoking! Luckily it'll just last a short while and then hopefully the elation will begin

Good for you tick off another day.
Would suggest swapping satsumas for fresh squeezed lime juice its hard to fancy fags whilst gurning0 -
well done determined , have been at work all day and was wondering how you were getting along
sewing machine out sounds like it could proove productive ...YOU ARE DOING BRILLIANTLY

Hi all
Thanks for all your encouraging words, and determined new ms, well done you're doing really well. Sorry I haven't posted, have been busying myself with work and my DS.
I'm not finding it too bad at the moment. Everytime a smoke thought enters my head I think 'wow I'm so lucky I haven't got to go out in the rain for a fag / I've saved a few bob / I don't smell like stale smoke' and it really seems to be working for me I haven't been tempted at all :j
I'm not going to have internet access for the next week or so - so I pledge now NOT TO SMOKE and TO POST MY PROGRESS ON HERE NEXT WEEKEND.
Thanks all - and good luck

I the middle of yet another wonderful Day, determined, hang onto those 4 goals, and any others you may have added to your list, every day and you'll not be going wrong. If you like apples then add them to your list as they take a good while to eat.
Fantastic work, D!!! :T:T Little by little you're getting there and I really am so pleased for you!Stay strong and focused and you'll get to where you want to be - SMOKE-FREE!!!
Don't forget, we're here if you get emotional as you have done in the past. Better still go on upstairs and have a good old cry into your pillow (not one you'll be sleeping on!).
That'll do far more good than anything else as the emotion truly does come out rather than you being suppressed, only for it all to need to come out further down the line.
By the time you go to bed tonight you'll have 5 good smoke-free days under your belt, be so terribly proud of all you've achieved, D, you'll have earned it!!!!

Oh Denis, how could you ever have done that!!! Every time you mention that to folk it really makes my face go all contorted as though I was sucking the darned things! I'm no good with sour stuff. Great advice by the way.

You forgot to add to that list "I've started getting my health back!"
Hiya prophecy_grrl and VERY well done on having stuck with it!!!! :T:T I'm so pleased you and 'determined' have each other to 'run with', it does help.
Marvellous that, so far you're barely being affected. Keep focused and stay strong and keep up that pledge and you'll be going great guns!!!

Hi JD, surely you should be signing yourself as Puff after putting where you come from as "a land of honalee". BTW, if I have that song on my mind for the rest of the day, I'll know who to blame!

Have a lovely weekend, everyone, and even if it's wet out you can still use the stairs to run up, ....go up twice every time you need to go up and you can always extend that if you wish, it all helps.
For those looking in, yes YOU, and wondering "could I do that?" go ahead and try it for a day, then extend it to 2 and so forth. Why not, you've nothing to lose...and your LIFE to gain!
