    Hiya JD,

Good to see you back, but so pleased you had a lovely time down in Cornwall. You're right though, from John O' Groats through to Landsend tis so rude not to taste the local delights! :D
    BTW

Many congratulations on 9 MONTHS free from the fags!!! :j
You've done terrifically well to have beaten that 'orrible 9 month marker! :T:T:T:T

Fantastic work, JD, you've been brilliant all the way through and yes, I know so well just how delighted you're feeling right now, so very well deserved!!

    Love, Sue xxx

well its official according to silkquit stats i have reached beyond my 9 month hurdle:j:j:j:j:j

you'll hear me whooping from john o groats to land end when the 12 month mile stone is passed

for those that dont know , 9 month was when i started smoking again during my previous quit , i was doing well then hit a wall with family troubles and stupidly restarted smoking ,
i have felt that though i have moved on from my troubles i was left still holding the fags, so when i decided the time to quit was right again i so wanted to be beyond that 9 month stumbling block so i could feel like i was moving forward again

and so now i am :D

take heed anyone who has quit as i thinking of lighting that match please dont be tempted it will not help and will only undo all the good you have achieved

but on the other hand never stop trying to quit if you fall off the wagon climb back on and hold on tight

the support on here is first class ( thank you Sue:A ) and i would never of gotten this far without it , the previous threads on giving up smoking started by jo back in 2007 were invaluable too and i do miss the supportive community that was built up

i hope everyone is doing well on their journeys to be smoke free and stay smoke free

    JD xx

    Yoo hoo Sue-UU!

Still here, still quit :D I can't remember my actual quit day except it was sometime in January 3 and a half years ago when I was on my knees with a bad bout of bronchitis.

Don't even think about smoking now, certainly don't miss it. Feel a lot healthier and richer!

Well done Sue for all you do to help and motivate quitters :A

Hiya Pam! It really is brilliant to see you back to update your success! THREE years eh??!

    V e r y m a n y c o n g r a t u l a t i o n s!! :T:T:T:T
Don't ever stop coming back, Pam as you'll give such motivation to others for those quitting and so inspiring to those thinking about saying goodbye to fags. Aside from that - it's always wonderful to see you!

    Take care.

    Best wishes, Sue xxx

Hi JD, and GREAT news about the definite 9 months!! :T:T:j :T:T
It is a shame about the previous threads, all originally started by Jo, were forced to come to an end, but 'needs must' and it was impossible to have gone on as things were :(, but we'll still do all we can.

There's certainly a lull at the moment, but I do wonder if that's due to the weather as so many folk find it far easier to either give up in January (moving towards the spring) or in the spring/summer when the weather's good....normally! :(

Never mind, lets home the sun's soon shining! :grinheart

    Sue x

    To all those still battling
, PLEASE don't let the weather get you down. Carry on and stay away from the nicotine sticks as you're doing yourselves proud, getting better health and keeping money in your pocket! :D

    Hi guys

Just a quick hello - i'll reach the 8 month mark next Monday - still can't quite believe it to be honest, although i rarely even think about smoking these days. OH is cutting down a bit - mostly cos we can't afford it i think he maybe wouldn't make such an effort it we did have the money - anyway slowly slowly i'll get him off them eventually with a bit of luck - but i can't make the ultimate decision for him.

I truly think that if i can quit & stay quit then others can to - as i was a confirmed reasonably heavy smoker for many years until i saw the light:D

had some more promising views on the house - so still playing the waiting game - but our dream home is still unsold so all is good on the whole.

Am heading into a non stop weekend at work including an overnight (gah) - one of my staff had a huge stroke last thurs so things been hectic - can't see her coming back to be honest - so that's another job i've just got volunteered for until someone agrees to me hiring a replacement.

    Anyways
hugs to all & enjoy being a non smoker - i do
    Chrissie .xx

PS - if you haven't quit yet - or are thinking about it - you have nothing to lose and so much to gain - it has to be worth having a go??

    SilkQuit stats

    £2089 saved

    7331 fags not smoked

    3weeks 4days saved

I new sometime ago one of the benefits of quitting was more cash in my pocket,I was able to work out exactly what smoking cost me. I have always withdrawn £100 each time I visit an ATM,this year I saved nearly 21 visits,in fact I used an ATM 14 times which means I used to spend 60% of my disposable income on fags.

Also 7331 fags not smoked when you see figures like that you realise what a smart move it was to quit.

Good luck to anyone in the process of quitting this evil weed, there are only benefits you are losing nothing.

Hi Sue hope you are well. X

Hi Chrissie, I'm so pleased I managed to get here tonight as I see you've reached a whole 8 months out of the clutches of fags!!!!!
    Congratulations Chrissie!!!! :j:T:T:T:j
Wouldn't it be wonderful IF your hubby were able to finish his affair with them too! Still, for now he's cutting down so fingers crossed. I hope you're not working too hard and sincerely hope your colleague can recover at least well enough to have a fair life.

All the best for that dream home, Chrissie, hopefully it won't be long now.

    Sue x

Marvellous news, Denis!!!! You've done terrifically well, especially with Beryl and your DD still smoking. You of all people should be so terribly proud of all you've achieved, and your stats are amazing! I'm so delighted for you! :grinheart

Many congratulations on reaching that magical YEAR !!!! :T:T:T:T

I'm ok thanks, much better after reading your news! :D
