This is a website/forum I used when I quit and it helped me through some craves http://ffn.yuku.com/. Also lots of advice here.

I was here a few years ago - didn't manage to stop then though
I have been intermittently checking out this thread but it seemed to have quietened down a lot.
I have now been stopped just over 3 months cold turkey and have been using the following website:-
www.quitnet.com
It is mainly Americans, but it's handy if you're up late and/or not sleeping due to stopping smoking because of the time difference.
Just an extra form of support for new quitters. As my Mum always said "Look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves"0 -

Hiya determined, it's really lovely to see you back again - and with such news too!!! :j Soooo close to that HUGE occasion, so I'm not saying anything until it actually gets here, though you know full well how proud I am of you even this far in! :grinheart
Stay strong which I know you will - and DON'T forget to come back on the actual day!!
Hugs, Sue x PS, very wise words for Tracy.
Hello there, cottage_retreatist, I'll reply to your PM asap.
Many thanks for the tips, CUL8R, it all helps immensely.UnionGirl wrote:I have been intermittently checking out this thread but it seemed to have quietened down a lot.
Good to see you again, UnionGirl, even better to see you've stopped for TREE months cold turkey!!!!! :T
I know what you mean about this thread having gone so quiet - BUT - if people don't post (which soon draws others in as it has over the last couple of days) it'll always remain that way!
Thanks for the US link as, I agree with you, it could well be so useful to those unable to sleep.
Keep up the great work, UnionGirl, if you can go for 3 months then I'd be looking to not smoking again! After all - what's the point of ever going back when you've come this far, you've done incredibly well!! :j

Never give up, Tracy! Stay strong and focused no matter what happens in life; if you can get through one rough time you CAN make it!

Me .... yup, still not smoking- there were 2 big milestones recently that I've been worrying about
The first was my hols when one of my closest pals (have known her since Primary school!) came to stay ..... lets say I can remember hanging around in places we certainly shouldn't have been at 14 with the inevitable fag hanging out our mouthsShe still smokes so was worried about that (as she was staying a week!) but .....
The second was a hen night I was at on Friday - again, loads of old friends that I've not seen for yonks .... and I'd say 90% of them still smoke ..... but ....
Still feel I missed out a bit with the building up to it and the ritual of the "last cig" BUT I guess it's (fingers crossed) worked so I'll have to live with that!

Hi there, rising, and such terrific news!!!! :T You've done marvellously - especially with getting through such huge milestones - when some folk might break....but NOT YOU!!!!! :j
It's so strange how we all fear holidays and how they might throw us, but I guess it's because of the relaxation - excitement too which was all hard to handle for me, but like you - I got through it all!!!
I'm quote shocked that around 90% of your old friends still smoke, however, let's hope the other 10% of you will now have them thinking - "If she/they can do it then surely I can too!" I sincerely hope that's the case.
You've come a heck of a long way on your journey, and all being well, when you come back to tell us you are 12 months through you'll be feeling that you really have cracked it then! :grinheart
Keep thinking about all the benefits you now have...no ponging..no dirty ashtrays...lovely skin, breath, teeth, hair and fingers...and so much easier to run up stairs..or walk up hills. There are only benefits to be gained - nothing whatsoever to lose! :j
I couldn't be happier for you, rising, time for you to be sooooooo proud of all you've achieved - so far. Thanks so much for your words for everyone and to many they will quite possibly be a life-line.
Hugs of pride, Sue xx
Please, everyone, take note of the words of rising from the ashes below, they are so very true as you'll soon find out.

iamashoppingaddict wrote: »Hello just wanted to post an update.
Its been 19 weeks today since I stopped smoking. I just had a quite flick through of my posts around that time. God, you can just smell the panic and fear coming from them can't you??!! I don't really struggle day to day now. Every now and then I'll say to myself that I miss smoking but other than that I do good.
The hardest bit for me was when I went on holiday to spain a few weeks ago. Sitting in the sun with a smoke on the go was one of my favourite things when I used to go on holiday and for the first part of the week it was super hard. Smoking is obviously not as frowned upon there as it is here and you could smoke pretty much anywhere and most people did! So it was strange that I wasn't and it took a shed load of will power to stop myself going to buy 200 and smoking the week away. However I knew that if I started I wouldn't stop when I got back home and I'm liking that I'm saving some money!
Anyway just thought I'd check in. :-)
I had the same problem in Spain in the early days watching Beryl sucking a fag laying on a sun bed.
I,m over that now I have just completed 2 years, pocketed over £4970,have not smoked18400 fags.
Very important to remember you are not an ex smoker. You are a non smoker.0 -

Hellooo there, Denis! Yet another great traveller (in non smoking years, of course!) with a HUGE amount of time gone by - and so much gained!!!! :T Brilliant Denis, and......VERY MANY CONGRATULATIONS to you also!!! :T:T:T :j :T:T
You're quite right with your last sentence too, I always tend to think of the ex part or former, but after all this time, I suppose I am a non smoker!
Take good care of yourselves and have a wonderful weekend, to everyone else also.
