One other good thing that I have noticed is that my cellulite is rapidly disappearing! Never, ever thought I would see the back of that. I knew that smoking was one of the main reasons for cellulite not shifting and lo and behold - smoking gone, cellulite gone. How cool is that!
It's so good to see you back, warez!!! It sounds awful to say it, but I have to admit to.....totally forgetting all about your kiddies being ill.Sorry to hear you too have been rough, good to hear you're improving now.
Many congratulations on4 weeks 5 days FREE from fags!!!!! :T:T:T Is that right?
How amazing about the cellulite!! Though you were doing the exercise, but was that long enough to have contributed or is it really just stopping fags alone! Totally amazing if so - and we'll soon have all the slimmers on here! :rotfl:Cigarette: A fire at one end, a fool at the other, and a bit of tobacco in between.

So good to see you're keeping up with the water and satsumas, determined, though smoothies will help you too at any other 'snacky' times. Give em a go!

determined - good luck with your healthy eating. Healthy body, healthy mind! (well, that's how I think it works anyway!).

That was such a wonderful gesture, warez, bless you.
Thanks so much to you ALL for the truly lovely thoughts and words, girls. Truth is though, I just want for you, and all those wanting to quit, to achieve your dream and be as happy as quitters as I am.
My darling hubby has always been so proud of how I've done, and I'm sure that's what your loved ones want that for you, so you stick with staying free and I'll be absolutely ecstatic for you all.
for babes and tyadog too, not to mention all the others who completed their journeys long since.
Just remember though, I too was a Smokey Joe, D, and never thought I'd set myself free, but it happened, and that's why I know it'll happen for you all too as you're too gutsy not to!
Be patient with yourselves, and do all you can to keep yourselves happy as this is just the best journey ever!! :grinheart
Bless you all, you 3 amigos!

I haven't forgotten you, determined, I hate times when I get hooked on the carbs. I put on a few lbs after Christmas and finally stopped it by, of all things...lightly buttering 2 or 3 R*vita, just the plain ones, and it worked! I'm now thrilled as I've lost 6lbs and am back below normal!!!!
I don't know how you drink the water, but, through your worse times, keep sipping at it.
Try a small handful of nuts, preferably Almonds or Walnuts and just nibble away at those instead.
Don't forget apples as they take a time to eat.
How about feedumall's favourite of Ice Pops/Poles? She and others since reckoned these worked wonderfully as they're cold and refreshing and take a while to get through.
Step up the exercise and if possible, go for a walk at worse times. Don't forget to use weights to build up the muscles as they'll take up the slack with the calories.
You'll get through it, D, if you can stop the fags then you can turn the carbs around!

awwwwww thanks Sue am sure it'll pass and just need a week of healthy eating and the cravings will go. Shocking though how quickly my tastes have changed over the Christmas period! Sadly not as much time for exercise at the moment, but the kitchen will be done very soon and then I can go out running again....
You asked earlier about the thoughts of smoking. Honestly now they are just very fleeting. No rhyme or reason, just happens every so often (like yesterday when we were going to Ikea in Lakeside. Coming off the M25 onto the Thurrock exit and the thought came into my mind, strong though. And I said to my oh that I could smoke and should we. He said no. Its this little game we play, I bring it up, he says no and then the thought goes away again!) I might only get one once a week, maybe a little more, maybe a little less depends on the week.Definitely a MILLION times better than when the thought is on your mind continually anablle. Stay strong, I know I keep saying it, but it will get better and all this hard work you are putting is so worth it. Even though I play this game with my oh I wouldn't smoke again xDF as at 30/12/16

Morning All!
Another day fag free. Hope everyone is feeling positive today.
Am still feeling ropey at the moment which is rubbish BUT it means that fags mean absolutely nothing to me at the moment. Barely think of them, too busy feeling sorry for myself!!
Seriously though, fags feel like the dim distant past. I think affectionately of them every now and again, but then pfft the thought is gone.
I know what determined means with regard to food though. I reckon it's your body trying to replace one high with another. Nicotine being the first one, sugar being the second. I am trying to get my high from exercise which isn't working at the moment cos I feel like cr~~, but it worked when I didnt.
Anyway, good luck all today, both old and new. Don't get complacent, keep treating yourself well and revelling in the new you.

Evening everyone.
Hope you don't mind me jumping aboard! I haven't smoked for 12hrs 26mins. I had my last one this morning in the car before I went to work.
I'm 42 and have been smoking since I was 14 and have only had one previous attempt 2 years ago and lasted for about 4 months. Then I thought I had cracked it and bought a 10 pack for a night out. I thought I could be a social smoker - clearly not since I am trying again! However, the last time I saved up my cash and was in awe at how much I saved in quite a short space of time.
I decided about a week ago it was time to give it another shot and since then, had been trying to really think about every smoke I had and weighing up in my mind whether I was really enjoying it. I think, in all honesty, there were about 2 out of approx 15 per day.
Anyway, I got me some patches and gum (smoking cessation clinic) and I read the Easyway book last night. Although Allen Carr says no to NRT I think its for me. (I tried champix last year and only got to day 8 and never stopped smoking although I did do a good impression of a homicidal maniac - that was not good (and I don't suffer from any depression or anything). My previous quit attempt was patches and gum. I liked the book and have really tried to imprint some of his wisdom into my brain - nothing to lose and a lot to gain and all that!
So, armed with my patches and gum (and an elastic band around my wrist for good measure!) - here goes!!!
Wish me luck and I hope that I am soon posting as good stats as some of you on here. I've flicked through the thread tonight instead of having a fag after my tea and you have done fantastically well. You should all be so proud.
Onwards and upwards
