" Well Worn Shoes "?

Do you sell them alongside your other stuff, or have a separate account for the shoes?
I use my existing account. I dont see what the difference is ...either way, the person has to send payment to you and you have to send the goods with a sender address. Even if they did come to my house, they wouldn't see the feet that advertise the shoes anyway, as I use a "model" so I can take decent pictures of the shoes. It is pointless trying to photograph yourself - it just doesn't work!
I'm so grateful to the OP that brought this whole thing to our attention. It has certainly boosted my ebay income, and I have dealt so far with some really nice people. Indeed, I have had some 'rude' requests too but I have just replied as conservatively as possible.0 -
LOL, you're right, many sellers do exactly that. Week in & week out they have several well worn pairs, sometimes even different sizes so obviously they are getting them from thrift shops etc. as we all know a good well worn pair takes a long time to "make", lol, but some buyers don't seem to care.
I very seldom buy shoes off ebay (I have a few ladies I buy from in private) but won't hesitate when something of interest comes along that is from a genuine owner.
Ultimately 2nd hand shoes have still been 'well worn' by *someone* so I don't really see how it matters if a third party buys them and sells them on?0 -
Was told there is money to be made in selling pictures of your feet in high heels!0

I think some buyers like to know their provenance, lots of sellers claim their shoes are worn by air hostess or dancers - not quite the same if in reality it was Nora Batty (probably still a market for them), sellers obviously know that buyers want them to be their personal shoes as one has put in her listings that she is selling lots of sizes because they belong to her sisters.:rotfl:
Now, my OH has just bought new trainers and shoes so I now have his old 'scally' shoes and 'scally' trainers - not sure if I have the nerve to list them.0 -

floflo don't worry about it, i sold my dh's manky workboots recently (after i'd plucked up the nerve). they didn't go for much, i was a bit disappointed, but the buyer was the nicest, most polite, best communicator etcetcetc i've ever had in all the hundreds.
i think where i went wrong was, i photographed the boots on their own, i have told dh that next time, he has to model them:D0 -

Q. When choosing shoes on ebay, does it make you more inclined to bid if the shoes are 'modeled' by someone?I Hate Jobsworths!!!0 -
Personally it puts me off bidding when I see people modelling the shoes.0

Yes, modeling is important, but ebay can be picky about that, I think all pics have to be from the knee down or something like that. Many sellers use the "me" page to further promote the item etc.
I think a good "me" page is very beneficial as it gives us more info about the seller with that info being whatever you are comfy with. Having said that, you don't have to reveal much about yourself to have a good "me" page, it's all in the presentation.0 -

Yeah I suppose you are right about that, some buyers probably don't care. Still I think shoes "personally" worn by the seller will end up fetching more, it certainly factors into my decision when I bid. And yes, there is no way for a buyer to tell whether you actually wore them or not, unless you have shoes up every week....we just have to trust you0
