    a couple of questions......

first one.. i listed a quanity of the same book..... and i have noticed the listing has now disappeared.. with 2 left... this has happened with 2 sets of books....so i have just had to re-list the again.......one listing with x amount of books for sale....

do you know why that happened....?

also i remember reading that some of you guys had half price pro seller fees for the first 3 months of signing up...?

is that still available or was it just a promotion ....? ..as i have just gone to have a nose.. and it is telling me £25. plus vat......

was hoping to make use of the half price ......promotion... to list some of my books which are not listed.....

The half price pro seller offer ran for a month (February?) and is no longer available. Such a shame really as it did push me into experimenting with pro seller, I wouldn't have done at full price. Now I am a pro seller I so feel a bit stuck though as I have set my prices to reflect the saving but will probably not quite hit the 30 books a month I would need to sell to pay the charges. I am at 25 books only this month and my 'month ' expires on the 8th, so I'm unlikely to get the full 30 in.

I am listing more every day though, I currently have just short of 900 books listed and remove them when they sell on ebay ( several a week) and add more when bought.

After my experience yesterday with my 1p book, am going to relist them all, and if there are too many already listed, I think I will just take them to the charity shop(for you guys to buy!) as with the cost of the packaging and the hassle of going to the P.O I don't feel its worth it.

  • magenta, hi there! you could always swap them on www.readitswapit.co.uk you might end up with a more saleable book or a book that you'd want to read yourself. I've had great fun with the swapsies, all you have to pay is the cost of the postage for your book to go to the new owner

Hi all, sold a 1p book on Amazon today, so total due to me as seller from Amazon was £1.41p. Well it cost me £1.20p to post it. So that left me with 21pence which does not even cover the cost of the envelope etc. Is it worth it I wonder. Does selling them on Gmetropolis work out better?

    Hi Magenta,

don't rule out Greenmet if you have space to store the books. I've listed quite a few that were 1p copies on Amazon with lots for sale. You can add postage on for bigger/heavier books. Have sold about 6 and those were ones that had been on Amazon for ages without selling so if you are not in a huge hurry I think its worth listing them there... or try RISI as AT suggests

    Good luck

I bought a car load of stuff at auction today and my house is bursting at the seams. Problem is that I have guests tomorrow and OH is muttering darkly about having everything put away before they come...eeek!

One interesting buy was part of the bankrupt stock from a specialist CD shop. I bought on a whim as the price was good and ended up with a boot load of CDs, many of them duplicates and none of which I'd ever heard of. Found several over £15 each on Amazon, and a rare deleted CD very high in the Amazon ranking ..which I have 15 copies of :j

I can see myself branching out here :T

If you have any singles by Tool (American rock band) they seem to sell like hotcakes to metal heads in Eastern Europe and the US!

TBH I don't know what I have, a lot of it is imported and I played some and it goes 'bang bang bang, thud, whoop' bang bang bang' a lot.

I still have 4 large boxes to look through.

Running a search and listing each of those will be a chore!

I've only managed a few so far, mainly where I have multiple copies, however I have had one question on a CD (via ebay) asking me if I knew what it was as although this is a catalogued item this collector had never tracked down a copy before  He's also made a private offer which is as high as the Amazon price and as I only have 2 copies of this one I may put up a BIN for him.
