Hi Annie,
Nice to have you back! :hello:
I agree with Rupert that more books listed equals more sales, athough I also find a big surge in sales when I reprice. If I were you I would go through every book and try to match prices as much as possible, obviously allowing for postage and your stock costs, that should help a lot.
Yes I am still trying to pay off my debts and I am getting there slowly. Hoping to have the £3k credit card paid off by september.
Nice to hear from you again.

Last night i was pleased cos i sold a book. Today i am gutted cos that book cost me £4.25 to post, and only netted me about £3.50 from amazon."I have enough money to last me the rest of my life, unless I buy something."0

WELL DONE!!!
I am currently trawling through all 75 pages of my listings matching prices where I can. I have 3 boxes of books in the garage which need listing and aim to get them on over next week or so. I desperately need my sales to increase as they play a big part in my own DFW path so I shall be focusing on them big time.
Keep going with your quest
Take care

Hi all, sold a 1p book on Amazon today, so total due to me as seller from Amazon was £1.41p. Well it cost me £1.20p to post it. So that left me with 21pence which does not even cover the cost of the envelope etc. Is it worth it I wonder. Does selling them on Gmetropolis work out better?:smileyheaMagenta0

Hi Magenta
If you sell a standard paperback on GM you will receive either £3 or £2 (if you have given a £1 discount).
So, compared to a 1p book on Amazon, if you are only getting £1.41, then yes GM is better.
Best not to list at 1p in the first place, some buyers skip past all the penny listings anyway and go for the first books that have a 'proper' price.

I,ve only listed this ammount on books I havent paid for, and i got around 60 jiffy bags for free too. dont think I would ever list to be out of pocket. But I will sell cheap till I know what exactly where I want to go with this:T:jDabbler in all things moneysaving.Master of none:o

I seem to be the 1p queen
I have around 200 listed out of nearly 900 and sell them on a regular basis,
BUT as ive said before i have already covered the cost on these so ANYTHING is a bonus, i did used to whimper when i was told it was £1.39 to post when i only received £1.41
I have listed a load on greenmet and sold nowt so wouldnt waste time with that one
I agree with what FFM says and try and list above the 1p listings, however if there are 3 pages full of them i tend to stick it on at a penny anyway
mishka
PS feeling all smug as just sold a dvd cash converters would only give me £1.50 for(dont ask why i went in there:o ), got £10 for it after fees :rotfl: and i only paid 50p for it in the first placeBow Ties ARE cool "Just because you are offended, doesnt mean you are right" Ricky Gervais0 -

It's even worse since the postal rates went up on Monday. A standard paperback that used to go for £1.39 as a packet now costs £1.52, so a non pro seller selling at 1p will actually make a loss of 11p before taking into account the cost of the envelope. I had meant to remind people of that on Monday, but completely forgot.
So...non pro sellers, watch your 1p books. If they are thin enough to go as a large letter you should be fine, but if they are normal paperback size then reprice ASAP.
As for greenmet, I have made a few sales on there, they come through in dribs and drabs so I tend to list on there as well as Amazon if the books is £1 or so or less on Amazon.
