It would probably be a bit cramped for you but could you get anyone to come and stay to help you up and down stairs if she won't use her pads?

I know if I was closer I'd be there to help, I know how hard it is having a hefty poorly pooch to lug around with little help :-(

She is not going to use the pads.. when I spoke to the vet he said to take her down and outside, he said after one week one person should be able to manage....

Daughter going away this Saturday for a week, had it pre-planned for ages and impossible to cancel... otherwise would ask her to move back in for a while..

Will manage somehow, simply have to...

But thanks for your kind offer....

You may find she manages better than you expect. I have a flight of steps to get up to the garden from my back door, and when Tysons leg gets 'stuck' he still manages to get in and out on 3 legs, just takes him a little while.
I am dreading the day both legs go though :(

Can you maybe get your dog walker to come and help you? Or do you have any dog-friendly neighbours (or any weight-lifting ones?). Maybe use a harness to give her a little extra support and let her gently go down on her own steam? Dogs are pretty resilient I've found, but remember you've not been well yourself, so don't try doing anything daft like lifting her!!

I am off all next week and Monday the 11th so will have 9-10 days with Zara 24/7.

Dog walker comes weekdays at 11 but mornings/evenings got to do it by myself....

Nobody will do anything for free around here and I have no money to pay for extra help...

Yay for Zara! I saw the series 'The Bionic Vet', it was compulsive viewing, if a bit gory at times. I loved the way that he slept above the hospital, he seemed a really nice guy, as well as a brilliant vet.

Good luck with Zara, Chloe's only 20kg, and she gets heavy enough lifting her in and out of the car...
Good enough is good enough, and I am more than good enough!:j

If all else fails, remember, keep calm and hug a spaniel!

Have you got a garden? can you camp out? .. I know I know brainfart idea, but then she would be outside at ground level and it would be easy for you to nip in to see to the kitties
