Tesco Maybe Stopping Using Coupons!!!!

I have saved over £200+ today using vouchers etc in Tescos, I have been to 4 stores and made 7 transactions.
In the one store, the SA said hand them over and I gave him my vouchers and he said haven't you got anymore ? I tend to stick to my "boys" then I do not get so stressed.
So to recap on my travels today I haven't come across any voucher haters - maybe I was lucky, because I think it is really down to the SA

All the staff at my local branch have had a letter to tell them one coupon only if you are not buying the product.0

I was in Tesco's yesterday with a mitt full of money off coupons, chose the youngest/most studenty looking cashier (usually find that they don't quibble with the coupons - if the till scans them they accept them) but just as it was my turn to be served he went on his break.Unfortunately his relief was a 'by the book' lady and would not accept any coupons unless I had bought the product.
Last week when my shopping bill came to £118 my £3 worth of mixed coupons were taken without question...so not sure if once you spend over a certain amount they accept the vouchers as a courtesy gesture or if it is just luck of the draw who you get on the till. There's no such thing as a free lunch but there seems to be no shortage of free tea....0 -

I've never found Morrisons cheaper than Tesco for many things at all around here
Maybe a regional thing, but theres an Asda, Tesco and Morrisons here within walking distance of each other and Tesco is usually the cheapest, followed by Asda.0 -
During the week Tesco used to give out the till spits that could really help boost your points it seemed it was Mon-Wed between 10-4 ish does anyone know if they are still doing them? I've noticed some sa's will happily put the vouchers throu just listening out for the beeps you have to be careful as sometimes if you have brought the item the till doesnt give the reward, Why is also that specially if you are doing a really big shop some sa seem to have a way of overiding the tills so the vouchers accepted.........Don't sweat the small stuff, Its all small stuff.0

Hi everybody
I hate tesco! The tesco near me, which is a local, has now started charging people £5.00 for taking the trolleys out of the store, apparently the trolleys are being stolen so now you have to pay £5.00 if you want to take the trolley to your car to load your groceries, and the staff in there are so happy they could just sh... they are the rudest people I have ever met and always treat you like they are doing you a favour by even serving you. The other local tesco a little bit further on are no better and bloody expensive. They seem to adjust their prices according to which neighbourhood you live in! I gave up on the whole green points debacle as they never give you your points and you have to ask for them every single time, so I gave up, now I just use as many bags as I like, although I no longer shop as tescos.
I have started shopping at LIDL's and although you have to keep an eye on them, they also like overcharging for things by charging you more than it says on the shelf! they do have some real bargains, like 70% off fruit and vegetables which is amazing, will never again pay £1.80 for an avocado when I can buy the same ones, bigger and nicer, at LIDL and pay £ 0.23p each! and a 2.5kg bag of white potatoes only cost £ 0.69p, and salad potatoes 1kg for £28p. Anyway sorry about the essay, but would rather go to LIDL's which is further away for me and save loads of money.
Thanx for reading if you're still awake and I haven't bored you to death!

Hiya CFTG - no not bored at all, I find it interesting to read other's peoples views etc, I know personally I have at times become so tesco focussed that I forget that there are alternatives out there.
I had a freebie voucher for a smoothie at farm foods which is somewhere I hadn't considered going before, however, on my quick trip there were bargains to be had.
Today doing all my shops, I handed over my vouchers, brought my own carrier bags and in the some of my transactions
(a) I was not given my green bag points and
(b) the computer for schools vouchers were not automatically handed out.
I find it a tad annoying that I have to remind them each time, it should be done automatically

Ooooh Nooooo........ I had a minor panic attack on Thurs............. had appox £30 shop inc several DMs and SA changed shift after I'd put it all on the belt!! Yes you guessed it, every voucher was scrutinised....... she even got a supervisor to go and see if they sold the book on the old £4 DM book voucher......... they didn't........... Asda and Somerfield vouchers were spotted............ a couple from Best were out of date............... then I came home and saw that this thread had been started:eek:   had the world as I knew it ended???
No, went yesterday and a 'luverly' young lady scanned everything and stopped at 50% appologising for not being able to take any more. Phew, everything seems back to normal now..;)

Oh happy days........0 -
The only coupons I currently use are the quick quit ones, but after my success yesterday with Tesco clothing coupons I might start using more.0

they wont take somerfield vouchers usually now as they cant cash them in. If they get too many somerfield ones they clamp down. Hence the reason most people have stopped using them. Asda vouchers are ok as tesco are in main competion with them and my mr t's is across the road from them so its not a prob.
