Crikey, some of you don't know how lucky you are! My tescos (Hurst Park Molesey if we are naming & shaming;)) haven't taken coupons for non-purchased items for over a year, and the staff get really really shirty if you try with even one!
Must admit I noticed that the price of their value tinned tomatoes had gone up by 4p last week & these tend to be my baramoter to all theri value prices, I may venture a trip into unknown terroratoy for a Lidl at this rate:p

lillibet - Lidl or Aldi offer fantastic value for money and some different lines. don't be afraid of trying some of their own brand stuff as it is great - especially the Aldi ranges. I think you will be converted and don't forget most of the stuff is manufactured in Europe where their regulations on additives and preservatives are far stricter than here in the UK. Stuff Tesco they will pay for their greed. They have just changed their policy on refunds because they were getting fleeced because of their own bad practices and now they have just made pr@ts of themselves with the petrol fiasco by categorically denying it was anything to do with them first of all, and then, when they really had to, admitting it was their fault. Talk about Arthur Daley!!!!

Couldn't agree more. :) Their selection of continental cheeses and meats is excellent (I'm a 'cheese addict' btw). Lidl mozzarella was on a special offer 29p/pack until recently, and they sell a gorgeous 'quark strudel', which you can find in the frozen foods section. Looking forward to trying their lasagna, which has recently been voted the best by a weekly mag (I think it was Best mag ).

I could go on and on. :o:o

Actually, Aldi UK is also changing its refund policy. Before, you could take stuff back for up to a year for a refund with no quibbles and no reason needed. It's now changed to 30 days unless the item is faulty. This is due to abuse of the refund system in Germany.

I have just been to Tesco and had no problem whatsoever with the clothing vouchers and the newspaper coupons plus other manufacturer coupons. She even took my Sainsburys £10 off a £50 shop!

Tesco do clamp down now and again and sometimes it just depends on the SA. Just look on it as a bonus rather than a necessity when you hand coupons in!!!
Just about to give up!

I'm quite new to Tesco-ing (last 2-3 months) and must admit pre-clubcard and vouchers days always thought them quite expensive. I've been reading this link from the OS moneysavers forum..

hxxp://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=369405

has got me wondering have I been sucked in by Mr T's world domination plans? :)

Not sure how easy it would be to give up points saving but I guess there's always going to be something (petrol etc) that can't be sourced locally that will keep the balance jogging along?

Might just give it a try!

Be careful when using MMMMMorrisons. Last week they charged me £8.71 for a 79p lettuce and I didnt notice until I got home. They refunded the difference but no real apology apart from this sa does not usually make mistakes.

So check your receipts carefully - no double the difference or £2.00 gift card either.

The dont take coupons unless you buy the product. Handed two in yesterday (one for mag and one for sausages) and the sa had to input the values in by hand - did buy the products though.
