A heck of a surprise.
Some person of unmarried parentage nicked, indeed pick pocketed, my purse. They got a fiver. I got an unexpected delight in the amount of prompt, intelligent, informed, professional enthusiasm at stopping cards & arranging replacements I came across even at nine thirty on a Sunday morning.
Extra thanks to Asda, who managed to stop an unregistered giftcard for me, and have a replacement ready for collection at my local store.

Even in the stunned horror, I was very glad of all the kindness and help available.

My lovely parents gave me: apples, broadbeans, potatoes and swiss chard - all from the garden! :-) Tonight's dinner was swiss chard and potato gratin, and lovely it was too!

Yesterday some farming relatives gave me a large bag of cooking apples and one dozen double yolk eggs. They are huge and heavy!

Our friend, Al, called round last night with a huge bag of crab apples. When he left, he remembered he had some rhubarb, too. DH found it posted through the letterbox; he wondered what the bulge in the door curtain was!
I saw Al this evening and he put three more crab apples in my lap as he walked past; the ones that thought they had got away!:rotfl:

One of those mornings. Got up a bit late, DS2 couldnt find the right PE kit, the traffic was awful AND it was raining. By the time I got to work I was fed up and stressed, then I remembered that I hadnt had any breakfast!

Went to get some files and came back to my desk to find a cup of coffee and a cereal bar - kindly donated by my lovely colleague. Such a little thing but it put a smile on my face for the rest of the day.

Today, our cousin gave us 3lb of the sloes that she had picked from her garden hedge. Will pass 1lb onto a sloe gin making friend and freeze what's left to manufacture some for ourselves
