My daughter gave me a lovely M&S scarf (with animals on) which I had admired when in Marks with her. She said she already had it but had lost it so bought another. She found her original one and now I have it. I love scarves and was given two (M&S) as birthday gifts at the weekend.0

Some friends are giving up their allotment; it's a privately owned one and the owner needs it for car parking for their business, so don't protest! Anyway, today they gave us 12 strawberry plants and two rhubarb crowns and some courgettes, and we picked some rosehips for jelly. We took them some chutney and some plum jelly but the onions, apples and plums were all given to us by other friends; I love this time of year. Yesterday, another friend who goes to a country market, brought us plums, apples, pears, red onions, a marrow, runner beans, cabbage and cauli. To much really so we passed on the marrow (hate it), one cabbage and some plums and apples. Generous friends!:T0

Bit of a different type of "someone gave me" but today my son spent two hours with his friend's Mum. She went through interview techniques with him and helped him with practice for interviews. He has come home much more confident and it has really helped him. She gave him her time.0

A first aider spent ten minutes watching over me as I cooled off from a giddy spell triggered by overheating. Time and knowledge and compassion and humour are wonderful generous gifts & I feel happy, lucky and much enriched thereby.0

Today I have spent time with my sister sorting out dads garden, since we lost mum 3 years ago he hasn't done much in there, it was pretty much her domain. We both came away with 2 large hostas each which mum had from tiny plants, I was also given a spice rack made by dad many years ago but which he no longer has a use for, 4 plates and bowls that were my nans, and a couple of plant pots.0

DD1 gave me a bag of clothes that had been passed to her by her MIL ... I got a lovely M&S blouse for work, a Wallis wrap around dress and several tops/jumpers. The surplus that don't fit me will be passed on this week to a friend with a few things that I no longer wear and she will take her pick, add a few items and pass it on to another like minded friend/relative

This week someone at work forgot to take their shopping home and wasnt going to be back for a while so called the office and offered me two pieces of salmon and a salmon en croute!
While walking home from the shop yesterday someone was clearing out their attic and putting things out I front of their house for people to take, so we got a beautiful oak chest of drawers and a really useful z bed!
Been a good week0
