Thank you, the figs were delicious. You got a lovely load of stuff there....now what I would love is some Bramley apples.
Long time since I've had green tomatoes. Used to ripen them in the airing cupboard in a paper bag with a ripe banana.0 -
someone gave me two strawberry plants - I gave them some rosemary and the stalks (that what they asked for, to add to stock) from some parsley I had used.0

:-) love this thread but never posted.
my dear friend had the local fish man turn up on her door yesterday and she felt a bit guilty once he'd started opening up all his boxes so she brought two boxes of fish...one being a massive box of jumbo fish fingers, she didn't tell her husband and hid them in the freezer...she had NO room for her loaf of bread that she brought today, so gifted me a freezer bag with 10 in :-) though really 20 ordinary size.
my kids have had a couple as a quick easy tea and thoroughly enjoyed them :-)Don't tell me this nothing...this is my nothing0 -

Last week my friend gave me a smart dress from Oasis she'd only worn twice. Its not my style but its conservative and will be useful for interviews.0

Today my friend gave me a dressing gown for my mum as my friend never wears dressing gowns. My mum loves it as its nice and long - and she gave me her dressing gown the other day as she felt it was too short!
I gave my friend an extension cable so she can plug in her TV, as her lead wasn't long enough.
My mum gave me coffee, tomatoes, pasta and broccoli today after inviting me round for a roast dinner, oh and a lap tray as I had to throw away my old one the other week.A waist is a terrible thing to mind.0 -
What a lovely thread. Only just discovered it this morning as I was looking for a happy thread to cheer me up. It has made me smile.
So there is my first gift! A smile from all you posters!
Last week I was given a bag of apples that I stewed and were delicious, plus I was given a beautiful pot of flowers from a friend on Friday as I had been ill all week. Both gifts made me feel happy.
It's funny how such little things can stir such big feelings. Today I am taking a trip out with my class and have baked flapjack to treat my helpers so I hope they enjoy my gift to them.
Kind regards
Slowdown:)0 -
Yesterday I was given wine, flowers and home grown veg. Doesn't get much better than that

On my way to the doctors (glass in foot OUCH!) I was stopped by a neighbour who has given me a huge bag full of Bramley apples, William Christ pears and some enormous peppers. It has really cheered me up.
Crumbles and pies aplenty - will not be using the peppers for those dishes obviously! Thinking Thrifty.... :idea:0 -
