"by claiming something they are not entitled to, they forfeit the right to what they ARE entitled to"
I really like that! - it's not a law, but it should be!0 -
I now have a massive concern...obviously when i got my letter i was so concerned as i just haven't got the money to pay the £60 fine (or £90 after so many days) and so i emailed an appeal to them to explain what i was doing in the time. It was 4 hour time limit on a free parking car park and i stayed 4 hrs 28mins.
I'm really worried now as i stated on the email exact times and also attached a photo of a ticket i had brought for the cinema to prove i was there.
At the end i put something like "I trust this matter will now be closed and look forward to your confirmation of this".
What should I do...I saved up for this day out with my daughter. :-(0 -
A massive concern? Just because you were a little naive and actually believed there was an appeals procedure (they lied). IT'S JUST A MAIL SCAM!
Why not just search the sub-forum for the keywords 'already appealed' and you will find DOZENS of people who ask this same question every single day on here. Try it now.
Don't search the whole MSE forum, just the parking forum itself, top right of the title bar 'search this forum' when you are back at the parking forum thread index. That's only ONE click away (see my signature) and there's lots of info there in the current threads including pics of the letter-chain to expect and ignore from now on.
I notice you are calling it a 'fine' so clearly you DO need to read the current threads rather than this single one. One click and you can read the current threads instead of just this one. Pleeeeease...it is NOT a fine!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

As you have admitted you went over the amount of time you paid for. I would suggest you comply with the terms of the car park that you chose to park in.
If you do chose to ignore the ticket and the situation is escalated into a court case, then you will have to pay must more as baliff and court costs will be added onto what you already owe.
I wonder if those on this site telling you to ignore the ticket are in fact willing to underwrite the risk they are asking you to take. If I were you I would ask them ' will you fund the additional cost I will have to pay if I ignore this letter?'0 -
ONLY ever pay a PPC what they are entitled to if THEY ASK what they are entitled to.
They are entitled to actual losses, not invented losses or penalties and they are only entitled to receive for which they have asked, so if parking was £1 and they dont ask for £1 send them nothing, if they ask for a penalty, send them nothing.
Never make part payment on contractual invoices, it gives them a very good case to argue in court as they can argue for remainder of payment under the bills and exchange act and bypass the parking issue.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. It is interesting to see a direct contradiction of Martin Lewis advice on this site. May I ask, are you a lawyer?0 -

In the same way that I would agree to underwrite anyone not taking advantage of an email offering to pay $25,000,000 from a dead African diplomat into your bank account?
When you say bailiff and court costs WILL be added, how certain are you that the PPC would be able to win a case in a small claims court when many PPCs regularly lose such cases?Je Suis Cecil.0 -

Lawabiding, which PPC do you work for?
The posts at #16 and #18 can be safely ignored as they are obviously the work of a PPC troll, and they have been reportd as spam.
Edit: Told you so, only I didn't know Kev and Manx were already posting.0
