  • Happy 4-month-a-versary Granny! What a wonderfully candid post.

It's so true that we find it difficult to share so much with people. The only person in my family that knows the extent of our debt problems is my elder sister, as she had to come stay with us right as we were setting up the DMP and it was difficult to keep it quiet. At the same time, we were trying to help her with the end of her 22 yr relationship, so it was not exactly a happy household. :o

My eldest sister knows we're on a DMP (but not how much), and only because she asked me to contribute to my niece's fund to pay to get her dog's ashes and I could only manage £5 from our food budget when normally I would be the one offering to pay for the whole thing. :( No-one else in my family has any idea.

Lots of other things going on in my life that I haven't shared on here. I suspect this will change in time, but it's tough to know what to share without making yourself personally identifiable. :o

Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that I take a lot of comfort from everyone's supportive posts on the diaries I'm following (and picking up a new one every other week it seems!) and I feel like I've known you all personally for so long!

Of all the diaries I follow/comment on, Granny, yours is the one I always leave to the end of the day, because your humour is so wonderful, it's hard to feel blue after one of your cartoons or silly jokes. It's my own little 'nightcap'. :)

    Thank you (all of you)

Well Granny I am pleased you have Come through the blues at the moment I need a dose of your enthusiasm ... Dreading work really really dreading it

Aw my dear I'm so sorry that you are feeling glum. I really hope work isn't as bad as you were expecting x

Here's a little something to make you smile:

Quote from a recent meeting: "We are going to continue having these meetings, everyday, until I find out why no work is getting done".

Quote from the Boss... "I didn't say it was your fault. I said I was going to blame it on you."

A motivational sign at work: The beatings will continue until morale improves.

I thought my Boss was an idiot, and quit, to work for myself. My new Boss is an idiot, too ... but at least I respect him.

Quote from the Boss after overriding the decision of a task force he created to find a solution: " I'm sorry if I ever gave you the impression your input would have any effect on my decision for the outcome of this project!"

HR Manager to job candidate "I see you've had no computer training. Although that qualifies you for upper management, it means you're under-qualified for our entry level positions."

Quote from telephone inquiry "We're only hiring one summer intern this year and we won't start interviewing candidates for that position until the Boss' daughter finishes her summer classes.

    and a cutie picture too:
