Oh dear does that mean things haven't improved much at home then? I do feel for you as things are pretty pants here at the mo. x
Nothing planned, to be honest I'm feeling rather glum as my weekends are a bit like Groundhog day. If he's not working, we go shopping and then for coffee before coming home to hours and hours of him slumping on the sofa watching sport. If he's working I do the housework, enjoying the peace, with no tv nattering away in the background. When he gets home, we sometimes go for coffee and then sport or otherwise, like today skip straight to sport. Then Saturday & Sunday evenings are usually spent with him either snoring in a drunken stupor or clicking on the laptop, sometimes a combination of both, while I watch something that "we" don't watch together. Exciting isn't it. With no money and my friends with families of their own and no family living close, I feel a bit stuck in a rut. I'm thinking of studying accountancy, using study guides, can't afford to pay for a course, as I really need another hobby in addition to knitting.happy_but_skint wrote: »Could it be your thinking about your OH and his moods etc and thats stopping you from sleeping properly?

Thanks honey, to be honest I think the reason for my insomnia is depression. Life is not good at the moment with all the grumpiness at home, stress in work and no money. I'll get over it. I usually suffer from SAD in the winter and think with the weather being so appalling this year it's set in a bit earlier.
On a slightly more positive note, I didn't have a NSD day today because I bought some jewellery to wear to the wedding, £15 and a couple of knitting patterns and some really nice wool, £12, all off Fleabay. I got a grand total of 23p cashback for my shoes :rotfl:
Night all, off to lurk for a bit.

Oh granny, how sad, such separate lives. You don't deserve that at all. I think if you can break out of it in some way you should. Perhaps the DIY accountancy course is the way, but there again, maybe you could also look out for something silly and fun too. No idea what though! Salsa or tap dancing? Something that makes you smile.
I see you, in my mind's eye, as a very smiley person and it's a shame your OH doesn't appreciate you more.

Thank you my lovely, that's made me cry but smile at the same time if it makes sense. Sad thing is when he met me, he said that he thought I was the kindest person he'd ever known. Now all I ever seem to do is sit there feeling glum because he's grumping so much, which in a cycle of despair makes him grump all the more. I do need to find something fun but at the moment really can't think of anything - sad old moo xTargets

Aw Granny I'm so sad that things are carp for you & totally agree with Piq. You deserve better. Something physical like swimming or Zumba would lift your spirits and have the added effect of making you feel better about yourself as well as getting you put of the house. That would cost money though so the alternative could be to go out for a walk.
The accountancy sounds like a great option. Also, do you enter the competitions on the thread on this site? It would be something else to occupy your time online & you might end up with some prizes too!
Hope you feel better this morning & that you have a good day today XxDebts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

Hi Granny
I haven't read all of your thread, but I am sorry that things aren't going better for you. I understand completely about separate lives and not doing anything because you have no money. That is my life down to a t. And when I start to stand up for myself ref the tv (I LIKE the x factor so why shouldn't I watch it?), he just grumps off down stairs. I NEVER criticise his tv choices, so why does he have the right to grump at mine!
Glad the meeting wasn't too bad. I hope things pick up for you soon.
Can you not drag him out somewhere free over the weekend?
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

Hello lovely, I am so sorry that you are having similar problems to me, it really is awful living this way isn't it.
The problem I have with OH is down to his laziness more than anything because he isn't as skint as I am. He refuses to be dragged into this mess because he sees it as mostly down to me. My lack of money is my problem not his?!?!
He is so stuck in his ways and doesn't seem to want to do anything more than slump on the sofa watching sport and grumping at anyone that gets in his way. He's even been known to complain because my knitting needles are clicking too loud  :rotfl:
We are going on holiday in November and today he made the mistake of complaining because he's missing an autumn international game on the day we fly out. I have to admit, I blew a gasket at that today and told him what a boring old f^rt he was.
If I dared to suggest we couldn't do something because X Factor was on, he'd have enough to say and that's a few weeks a year, (I wouldn't anyway as that's what sky plus is for), sport is every blinking weekend and sometimes in the week as well and often more than one game a day.
He did listen to what I had to say today and after commenting on "well what fun do I have these days", to which I pointed out that this was of his making not mine, he agreed to be a bit more switched on to our relationship. This has resulted in no beer, sport or laptop today, bliss, and a little conversation, a small start in the right direction.
Let's hope things improve for a while at least as I am by nature a smiley friendly person, although I do feel blue in the winter because of SAD, and try very hard not to let things get me down. I don't want our relationship to fail but have spent the last couple of weeks sinking lower and lower into the glums and quite a few nights crying myself to sleep and then feeling annoyed with myself for that.
He's like a blinking caveman or petulant teenager to be honest and sometimes I just haven't got the energy to keep reminding him the right way to behave. When he's nice, he's lovelyand we could have a really good relationship if he just tried. Anyway, as I said things have been better today, its just a pity that I had to drag him back to reality first.
Thanks again for the kind words, it really does mean a lot
Lots of love Granny x
It's Granny day tomorrow so I'm going to stock up on hugs and kisses and laughs and giggles for the week xTargets
