H3llifax have accepted £1pm so mine are all sorted now. I will wait until I come back from Oz now before offering them another F&F. I should be one step closer to looking for another job by then so will be able to work out if I can still afford the F&F. In the meantime my debts are only going to cost me £5pm so not too much progress will be made over those 6 months.

I had a nice time on Friday. Friend & I met for lunch first and then went to the pub. I drank Pepsi & soda&blackcurrant. I left just before 9pm, didn't have to pay for parking and only spent £15 in total, so quite pleased about that. If I'd been drinking it would have been considerably more.

Back on my diet yesterday, so fingers crossed I'll have lost any extra by the weekend. Just 2 weeks before I go to a hen weekend & then OH & I go away for a week. It'll be nice to have some quality time together as things have been a bit tense lately.

Well done on getting all your finances sorted to £1 payments. I managed to do all of mine by Mr Ps were more difficult as he was quite depressed then and wouldn't speak to any of them. Is your DH dealing with his own?

Your day out sounds lovely and your weight loss is inspiring. Well done.

  • Just catching up Granny, am glad that you managed some well deserved pampering a few days ago.

Have just seen the posts from others on your diary about some problems with signatures on MSE, that must have passed me by somehow, probably had my head in the clouds again ! Im with you, if someone messed with my signature I wouldn't have a clue. I used to keep it updated elsewhere but those days are long gone as it was just another thing to do so I totally rely on my MSE signature ! :o

Bet you are looking forward to your hols now and I am so pleased your offers have been accepted. Onwards and upwards you will be DF in no time ! :D

Thanks both. No Pooh, I'm dealing with both mine & OHs predators but I don't mind as he just gets too stressy about it and throws it back at me. He's only got 1 left now anyway, B^rclaycard, formerly 3gg. I considered paying them properly while I've got the money as they haven't defaulted him, despite paying an agreed amount for 3 years. Then I thought how silly I was being as my money isn't finite and who knows what the future holds, so they've been offered and rejected a 22% F&F and now they've been told they are getting £5 pm. Still waiting for the letter they said was on its way.

Mrs PG I'm so looking forward to both our time away in 2 weeks and more importantly Oz, though I don't know how OH is going to manage without me.

I think that's how I've managed to stick to my diet. It's coming off slowly but surely, just like the debt :)

Well done Granny, the thought of your upcoming visit must be a wonderful incentive to keep plodding in the meantime. :T
But why do you doubt OH's ability to manage during your absence? ..Now is the time to teach him any particular domestic skills he lacks! ;)

It's social skills rather than domestic I worry about really. He relies on me to keep him grounded. He will manage but I suspect he will seriously miss me, probably more than I will him, ( although I will miss him too)

Oh well, a few absorbing new books and good dvds in his stocking should keep OH happy then, and there's always Skyp! ;)

Finally 3gg have responded and accepted £5pm. They are going to enter a default and may pass the account to a DCA but I'm not really concerned about either.

Much as I'd like them all to have accepted F&Fs, I'm happy to pay out £10pm for the rest of my life, if that what it takes. I've also told OH how much we now owe, as its halved and only costing £10pm. He took it in good grace, didn't ask me how we owed so much, (which is something he would have asked before) and didn't seem bothered that we'd struggle. Paying £10pm is obviously so much easier on me than the £600+ pm I was paying before. Basically I felt I was working for nothing other than to pay for previous mistakes.

The sense of relief I feel is immense

That sense of relief must be enormous Granny. I have been paying about £ 35/m to creditors which is why they are starting to default now - We also spent best part of 2 years - have lost track now - paying about 1500+ per month  Basically wasted all our income and what savings we had left trying to keep on top of it. Hoping my DH will also get to the point where he can at least listen to what I have been doing to deal with it without entering into an argument every time its mentioned!

Keep up the great work - am watching and learning all the time !
