Thanks all.
Another weekend has flown by. Only 16 weeks until I jet off to Oz now. I'm so looking forward to it. Missrlr, I'm so pleased with my weight loss so far. I'm really looking forward to getting off the plane & surprising DD with a 4 stone smaller mum. As its her diet plan I'm following & I'm keeping schtum about its success, I know she'll be chuffed to bits. (I've struggled to lose weight since my cancer surgery 18 years ago).
I'm sorry that you are struggling Missrlr, but you have a very valid excuse. Hope your ankle heals soon & isn't causing you too much pain & bother.
I've just bought myself a silk dressing gown from M&5, using cashback gift card and 20% off offer. A couple of years ago my DD bought my mum one and I lust after it. Silly thing was I bought it for her & could have had one myself but decided against. I decided to treat myself as I haven't spent anything frivolous since retiring.
OH has been in a foul mood all weekend, probably because he hasn't had a drink! Last weekend I spoke to him about his excessive drinking and the impact it had on our relationship. So instead of curbing himself, he's acted the martyr and not had a single drop. He's so difficult at times. I'm not sure if sulking all weekend is going to improve our relationship either!
He told me on Fri that he was working all day today, so when I woke up at 6am I nearly called him to tell him he was late. I didn't as I thought he must have decided to go in later but as he's still here now, he must have changed his mind after all. I'll have to try to avoid him now until 12, when he leaves for his proper shift. I can't face more sullenness this morning.
Next weekend I'm going to a friend's hen, a night away in Brizzle. I'm glad it's been paid for throughout the year as its not been cheap. However, we're going to a spa hotel, treatment included, then for cocktails, each of us bringing a bottle, followed by dinner, (included) and then drinks at the waterfront. All bar the drinks is paid for already, so as long as watch my consumption, (I don't intend to drink too much), it shouldn't cost too much more.
Next Tues, OH & I jet off for some winter sun, although at the moment the weather is forecast as rain on 4 out of 7 days.
DGDs are coming to stay on Thurs as its DS & DDILs 2nd wedding anniversary. Gosh where has that time gone! DGS is going to other gran as he's still a little unsure of OH, (screams whenever he sees him actually - I know the feeling :rotfl:)
Have a good Monday & week ahead one & all.Targets

Wide awake at silly o'clock, restless legs, aches & pains and another UTI, just in time for hen weekend & hols.
Have spent the last hour mulling over things in my head and have finally given up & come on here.
Will have to get cranberry juice later, (when the shops open) and try to flush it out of my system. I really don't want to end up on another course of antibiotics, but may have to get a script in case. Don't want to need to visit doc in foreign country.
I've just signed up for a free taste card trial that can be used in the hotel on Saturday., be handy for lunch. There's 19 of us going so be good to get 50% discount off our bill.
I bought salted caramel vodka for our cocktail party, cost £7, down from £13. I bought a couple of mixers too.
Not sure what I'm wearing yet but really pleased that I've lost >2 stone as I won't feel like such a mousse in my bather.
Going to have my nails, hands & feet done today, courtesy of ex work mates gift. Also booked in for massage on Saturday, spa break and massage & facial next week on our hols. It's certainly nice to be pampered as the last 18/24 months has been tough. I've decided to treat myself to a treatment for each stone I lose - will try to get daily deals offer though to keep the price down. Also going to ask OH to buy me gift voucher for my favourite spa for Christmas.
16 weeks today I will be seeing DD, cannot wait :j. We're booked into a yoga retreat for the first weekend I'm there. Perhaps I should dust off my yoga dvd to get some practice in over next 4 months.

Sorry to hear about the UTI, hope you can flush it out before the weekend.
I'm also sorry I missed your post on Monday due to Mr L's shennanigans! Big hugs for having to put up with a grumpy Grandad, I hope he improves before your holidays!
Enjoy your new dressing gown, night with the littlies (can't believe it's 2 years since the wedding!!!), and the Hen weekend. You deserve it!

Thanks both, I felt so rough this morning I rang the salon to move my appointment to later and went back to bed. Still didn't feel 100% but an hour of pampering sorted me out a bit. I was planning on going Christmas shopping afterwards but instead came home & slumped on the sofa.
Rang my GP this morning and left a message for him to ring me back. Receptionist rang instead and said he'd written up a script for antibiotics and for me to go & collect it. (I suffer from Uti's fairly frequently due to bladder problems, so know what to look out for)
The receptionist refused to fax my local chemist so I had to call at gps anyway. When I got there, they couldn't find it, so rang details through to chemist. Total waste of my time really!
Cranberry water hasn't really helped so I'm lying in bed now, dosed with pain killers and cuddling my hottie teddy. Hoping 48 hours of tablets improves things, it normally does to be fair.
Off to sleep now as littlies coming tomorrow

Granny, the answer is probably yes, but do you get an antibiotic that is specific to the UTI? Only by sending your water sample off to the lab will the GP know if the relevant bug is present, but as you're getting such frequent attacks this should be investigated. That particular bug won't be shifted by broad spectrum ABs.
Hugs anyway, hope you start to feel better by the morning xWhat would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0 -
I hope you feel better this morning Granny

Hi Brogden, I'm feeling better than I was but still rough. Hoping a full day of ab's sorts me out.
Hi Satchmo, thanks for your concern. The answer is yes, sample sent off for testing. As I get them regularly, every 6mths or so, we know why it happens so my GP prescribes first and tests after. To date I've only ever needed one extra course of AB after the results came back.
Littlies arriving anytime soon, I hope they are in the mood for playing not bickering today as I'm still feeling ropey. OH is working this morning but will be around to help from 2pm.
