The problem is when you get a bad boss there is not a lot you can do... In the public sector, they never seemed to be moved or demoted.. Thank god I love my boss and have only met one like HIM... but SHE was horrendous... What does it say about someones skills as a leader when five people put in a transfer to another office to get away from her...:) Jeez only in the public sector.... Just keep thinking of those beautiful grandchildren and the grandson to be born.... Bet he has nothing as special in his life like them ::)x0

Dear Lucielle, yes there was cake, carrot variety too so very yummy. Also managed to persuade OH to pay for a medium sized suitcase for our hols the week after next as the ones we have are either too small or too large. We are flying and have 15kgs luggage each, which cannot be shared.
Dear Bast, sadly you are right about HIMS and of course HERS in the public sector. THEY get away with all sorts. My last boss and the 2 before that were lovely and I worked all the harder for it. I would do anything for them. My big boss is also really nice and luckily is supportive, although I don't think he can do much more than talk to HIM if one of us makes a complaint. I have worked for a HER before who was so appalling, like your experience above people transferred just to get away from HER. SHE got me so stressed I had a breakdown and had to have a month off work and then looked for another job which is how I ended up where I am now. This is one of the reasons why I have made a point of sticking up for myself to HIM and make sure HE knows I won't put up with HIS silly ways. However, now and again it would be nice to just be able to get on with my job and not have to worry about HIS pettiness. That being said, at the moment HE is behaving HIMSELF so no worries currently.
And as you say I have my lovely DGC to think about and keep me smiling, HE doesn't. HE seems like HE is quite lonely actually, although HE is married with a family. No-one talks to HIM in the office much, so HE spends HIS days in relative silence. I'm one of the few who do talk to HIM about things both work and other related.
No money updates to report, yesterday was not a nsd as I ordered a top and tankini online.
Yesterday was quite a nice quiet day. After shopping and more importantly coffee and cake, we came home and sat in companionable silence. OH watching sport but not telling me all about it as per the norm and me knitting a jumper for OH. I feel so much better these last couple of days, although I still tire quickly, so I think I am at last on the road to a proper recovery.
Not sure what we are doing today, pretty much the same as yesterday I imagine, though sadly without the coffee and cake. Tomorrow I'm picking DS, DDIL and DGD2 up from the garage and then spending the day with DGD2 before picking DGD1 up from school. I'll probably be fit for nothing by the end of the day.
Hope you are all having a good weekend

I had a lovely but very long tiring day today. Met DS, DDIL and DGD2 at 9am. Went for coffee, (I know not very mse but only cost £5 for the 3 of us cos had some vouchers and DDIL had taken things for DGD) and then for a wander window shopping.
Left DS and DDIL at 11am when the garage confirmed their car was ready and came home. DGD2 had fallen asleep and I have tbh I could have slept too, I was pretty tired by then. When I got home I stayed in the car on the drive reading my magazine whilst DGD slept.
We came in the house at 12 and played. Such fun but oh my goodness was I tired by 3pm. Went to get DGD1 from school and DGD2 told me that she was "happy" It was so cute, she said over and over "I happy, Granny happy?" As soon as she saw DGD1 she told her that she was "happy" DGD1 wanted to know why but DGD2 couldn't tell her, just kept saying "I happy" I could have eaten her up.
We came home again for 2 hours but then I asked DS to come and get them because I didn't even have the energy to drive them home. OH said I didn't look very well and I just laughed and agreed I'd probably over done it a bit. He suggested I went to bed but I was worried I wouldn't sleep tonight and I've got work tomorrow. I'm sure HE will expect me to do more hours than last week this week so cannot afford to be too tired.
In other news, DM rang yesterday for some legal/financial advice. At first I was a bit annoyed as I haven't heard from her for a month, despite her knowing that I was unwell. However, to be fair to her, she didn't know how ill I'd been and for how long. Plus I have to accept that she is old and pretty self absorbed so I let it rest. I gave her some advice but asked for extra info as she hadn't told me all the details. Despite this she has decided what she wants to do, I just hope she remembers that I told her I needed extra info before deciding what was best but her memory is not great.
She also asked me to go away with her later in the year and again I nearly said no but then thought again. She is after all getting on and I may not have her around for much longer so should cherish the time I do have.
As for financial news, that predator I mentioned last week rang today and caught me unawares. Despite my saying it wasn't convenient as I had DGD with me, she refused to go away. I said we have agreed to only written correspondence but again she was very forceful. After giving in and going through a few questions with her, whereby she tried to increase my payments, she finally gave in when I said I could not afford to increase them and settled with a further 6 months agreement at the same rate. So the pressure is off for another 6 months.
I'm off for a quick run around the diaries and then off to bed. Night all, hope Monday has been kind to you.

Thanks Robin and Mrs Fluffy, I slept well. The day was lovely to be honest, one of the best I've had in a while. Those 2 little girls are enough to bring a smile to my face normally and the little one was even more delightful than normal yesterday.
I'm tired today but managed to work for 6 hours, 4.5 in work and 1.5 from home after an 1 hour break. Tomorrow I hope to do about the same, so that I can perhaps manage 30hours in total this week. I then have a 4 day weekend, 1 day in work, 1 day from home and then off for 10 days. Not that I'm wishing my life away or anything but roll on 28th Feb.
Talk later maybe.
