Congratulations Granny x
Hope you are feeling a lot better now.0 -
Hello Granny, :hello:I thought I would share some very special, until now secret, and very good news with you today. My user name come June should actually be Grannyx3 as we are expecting a wonderful little boy to join our merry little clan. I cannot wait to meet him and am whiling away my hours knitting a wardrobe for him.
Granny this is lovely news! ..Grandchildren are a great compensation for the aches and pains of growing older, aren't they?0 -
Thanks for the congratulations everyone, I've known for a couple of weeks but was keeping it for what felt like the right moment, (was also trying to consider a very dear fellow MSE's feelings). Anyway with the difficult week that a lot of us seem to have had this week, I thought now would be a good time.
I am so excited at the thought of a baby boy, the scan better be right :rotfl:, (only joking I love my Darling DGDs so much, another would be no hardship) I have knitted the most beautiful little jumper for him, DDIL reckons it'll be too small its so tiny.
Happy & Missrlr, thanks for the advice. I will be taking this matter up with OH just as soon as I feel well enough to deal with any fall out. At the moment he is being much better behaved. I think he is concerned that I am still poorly. However, despite this I'm going to speak [STRIKE]to[/STRIKE] at him and not do as I've done before. In the past I've let it ride if I haven't spoken up before his behaviour changes but this time I'm going to relay all these incidents to him whilst acknowledging that he is not behaving that way at the moment. We are going away the 1st week of March so will have plenty of time for discussions then and will both be relaxed as well so probably the best time.
Newleaf DGD1 loves lego and anything else construction like. Her favourite toy in my house is a racing loop the loop car set, so I think he will have plenty to keep him amused when he arrives
Mrs F and Lam I am better than I was a week a go but still not fully recovered. I have managed 16 hours in work this week but it has been a hard slog. I'm off now until Tuesday and have discussed with HIM already doing reduced hours next week too. At the moment I cannot imagine doing more than half days but will see how I get on. Yesterday I couldn't really concentrate on anything so ended up reading our intranet updates. Today I did some important but not urgent and not taxing tasks, which have been neglected for longer than suitable really.
Next week I want to try to work on a more pressing issue and have a meeting booked for Friday morning but other than that am hoping HE can see I'm trying hard and therefore will continue to be supportive. I thanked HIM on Wed for HIS support and HIS response was that HE couldn't wait for me to be well again so we could return to our interesting debates
Robin most definitely one of the biggest joys of getting older in my opinion. I love being a Granny and therefore picking my MSE name wasn't difficult, even though from this June it will be incorrect. Thanks for the visit and :hello:

Glad you are feeling a little better, but moreso that you have a few days off now. Funny how HE views your 'relationship' slightly differently to you.

March - city break, cannot wait for some us time tbh
Dear Mrs F, I am feeling better and glad that is reflected in my post. Perhaps I'll manage the shopping with OH today after last week's disaster.
NSD #7 yesterday so on target for the month, not difficult really as I don't have any money until pay day anyway, so will be spending my o/d if I need anything, which I'm trying to avoid.

I'm with you on the NSDs, I've given up counting how many I've had as they don't count if you have no money to spend anyway:D
It's not unusual that OH thinks the relationship is fine when you don't. Lots of relationships are like that. He might have simpler needs than you and a more direct way of communicating [unpleasant] combined with a 'centre of the universe' personality, it's always going to be hard work for you. However, you do sometimes write of the nice things he does, so there is hope. You can always put a reminder on your phone to give him a kick up the @rse every six months or so.Total debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

Piq ha ha ha a reminder to give him a kick up the bum is a brilliant idea.

Oops HIM is boss not OH so I don't think a kick up the b0tt0m would be a good idea, may affect my appraisal. :rotfl: at the thought.
Good idea to set myself a half yearly diary reminder to pull OH back into line though and I agree Piq, there is hope, which is why I haven't given up yet.
Newleaf, I am better but not fully recovered, (then again I haven't done anything yet this morning, lazy moo), so I'm taking it easy. Don't want a relapse after all.
Speak later, got to run, OH wants to treat me to coffee.
