Morning Granny, I have awarded myself another poorly day. Made it to the sofa and am now sat on it with Doglet watching TV which I have just had to rewind as I dozed off and missed it! Grey and dingy day out there, DH made chilli last night as he said it would burn the germs out of me, so I think we shall have this in pancakes followed by more pancakes today - well possibly as I am not sure I can stand up for that long - appear to have an earache combined with rather large glands making me feel a bit dizzy when I move.
Night all off for another small snooze I think

  • My own problem wit the "spreading the luuurve plans are that if Grumpy Grandad gets poorly he will expect our lovely Granny to look after him and she is in no fit state .

I think she needs to be sent on an all expenses paid spa retreat to recover in peace and quiet.

I will add that to my list of things to buy with my lottery win tonight !

Grumpy grandad does not deserve to have the luurve spread over him at all. No to rewarding bad behaviour and all that! I expect he'd be unbearable if he got granny's lurgy, it would be ten times worse than anything poor granny had suffered. So, you're quite right Mrs PG, no to him getting the lurg.

Dear Bast that is what often makes me sad about our situation as I know I would miss him and the good times if we split up and know he would regret his behaviour after it happened but each time he is nasty, he makes that more of an eventuality than before. Today however he has been well behaved.

Dears Mrs PG and Piq the HIM that NL and I refer to is boss from h3ll not Grumpy OH, so no worries there. In fact if OH got my lurgy he would be very well behaved as its then that he realises just how nice I am to him and how much he relies on me.

Dear NL HE was so funny in the short time I spent in the office, sitting as far away as possible and leaning back in HIS chair. It did make me smile remembering what I had promised last night. HE was lovely to me today though and told me I'd been missed at work and how horrid the office is without me there to brighten it. It made my day really, sad moo aren't I. HE sent me home after 2 hours saying that was enough for today. Tomorrow I'm under strict instructions to do no more than 3 hours, 4 on Thursday and 5 on Friday at most, dependant on how I feel. I am shocked tbh, I expected completely different behaviour from HIM. My colleagues asked me how our meeting went and I stuck up for HIM saying it how it was. The horrid client from last week has been passed on to someone else as HE doesn't think I need the hassle after being so poorly. Much as I feel sorry for my colleague I'm relieved and as its usually me who deals with the difficult people because I'm "best at smoothing ruffled feathers", for once I'm not going to feel guilty.

Dear Missrlr I hope you had a lovely relaxing day and are feeling slightly better now. I'm glad you took today off too and hope you do the same tomorrow. The more time you give yourself to recover, the better recovery you will make. I hope you enjoyed your pancakes. I forwent them this year, just not well enough to stand at the cooker making them and OH didn't feel like doing them. I wasn't that bothered tbh.

Dear Dot thanks for the offer, sadly I think I missed you this evening. After I got home from work, DS turned up and took me out for coffee with him and 2 DGDs, which was nice. He got a new car yesterday and wanted to take me for a spin in it. Its very nice too, though of course only new to him not new new. Both DGDs love the extra room it gives them.

Then DGDs came back to mine for 2 hours so DS could have some peace before work this evening. This was ok as OH was there to lend a hand, although they were pretty well behaved. DGD1 is a tad bored already, she really needs the discipline of school to burn off some of her excess energy. Needless to say by the time they went home I was pretty exhausted and snoozed on the sofa for an hour or so.

In other news not a nsd today as paid for coffee as their till was broken and DS didn't have cash. He said he'd give it back but I forgot to remind him. I'll get it another day and tbh it was only £4 so covered by the £5 I got from OH on Saturday so I may forget about it. It was a nice way to relax after work :D

I'm feeling better again this evening so hoping it continues. Working from home tomorrow and Thurs so nice easy quiet days expected. Off to bed now, well after I've taken a quick flit around some diaries. Night all, sleep well

Glad you've been looked after at work Granny and your return is working out well. Nice you are also relaxing with DS.

I do hope your OH gets to be more supportive though...if you can do calmly tell him how sad (angry?) it makes you feel. Maybe one day it will sink in. My OH is a reflective type ( aka complete opposite to me!) and it does take a while for stuff to sink in.but it eventually does. Also when he is himself stressed he is bad at expressing support..not sure of course but just wondered if maybe your OH is a bit like that too?

Have a good rest of week and take it easy WAH tomorrow

You have hit the nail on the head tbh. He is having a rough time in work at the moment so is even grumpier than usual. Normally I am supportive and make soothing noises etc which calms him but having felt so carppy lately, I've failed in this task which in turn has made him worse. Its not really a lack of support from him, its more affection. He snaps and barks so readily, I am considering recording him and playing it back. I think he'd be shocked at himself. I will tackle this once I feel more human as each time he behaves this way, he loses a little bit of my support and respect. I'm ok today though really I am, I've coped with far worse and come out smiling the other side, its just now and then his bad behaviour really gets to me. I just want us both to be happy and at the moment as well as making me sad, he makes me worry that he is unhappy too.

You too my lovely and I will enjoy doing something not too taxing tomorrow. It'll be nice to get back to a semblance of normality.

So clearly that off to bed didn't work, but I'm going now after I've left this and a little message for someone else too
