Well OH decided that we needed some fresh air this morning so we went to Mr M's and then to the coffee shop that doesn't pay tax. Whilst in Mr M's I came over all hot and bothered and nauseous so had to sit down whilst OH paid for small shop.

Went to SBs and sat down whilst he ordered coffee and cake. Ended up bringing mine home as I just could not drink it. Now I'm back in bed for a bit. So cheesed off with feeling rough, when will this bug do one. Back to the docs tomorrow to ask for paper to suggest I do half days next week as I really don't think I'll manage 4 x 9.5 hr days.

Sorry to hear you are feeling rough again. I know my bug hung on forever (the annoying thing).

Hope the week improves for you x

Granny, I was forever spilling my glass of water on the bedside table. I now have a small bottle of water instead that I can drink straight out of.
Spend less now, work less later.

Thanks Lam, I hope you are better now.

:hello:, Hello Jazee, welcome to my diary. I always used to use a bottle, I don't know why I've got out of the habit and wish I had last night. I'll go back to that tonight I think as it was a nasty wakeup call.

OH has decided we will have our Sunday dinner tomorrow and he will treat us to pizza instead as we have a bogof voucher with free garlic bread that has to be used today. Nice surprise so I'm not going to complain about the waste of money as I really do not feel well and don't think I could face a big dinner or cope with the washing up he creates.

Oh Granny, so sorry you're feeling poorly again. That often happens with these bugs - you think they've run their course and then they hit you on the back of the head with a farewell wallop :-(

I just wished you'd put all sorts of lovely treats and vitamins in your shopping basket at Mr Ms so OH paid for those, too!

Yes, get a "phased return to work" statement from your doctor, and don't be tempted to do too much. I do a great line in going completely white-faced when I'm ill. It comes in handy sometimes, as I make Casper the Ghost look colourful, lol.

    Hugs x

  • Oh Granny and missrlr you both sound so poorly and fed up. Granny should you be thinking of returning to work at all while feeling this rubbish? I don't think you should venture out of the house at all, or do any housework back to bed with you with a nice cup of tea and a good book. Tell work to bog off you are not well. If you need to borrow the magic hat to give you the courage I will send it to you, it will not only make you brave, it will make you better BUT ONLY if you allow yourself time to recover - be warned - it won't make you better enough to return to work before you are ready!

From one Granny to another; be kind to yourself. I know we always think that work will shut down and the world will stop turning if we are not there organising everyone, but do you know what - it won't:rotfl:

Dear Satchmo, OH was particularly concerned this morning when my usual pallor turned a rather unhealthy shade of green in front of his eyes. Thanks for the hugs. x

Dear Missrlr, I am so sorry to hear that you are poorly. Lots of germ free hugs and well wishes winging their way to you. x

Dear Dot, :hello:, thanks for popping in. I'm struggling to see at the moment how I'm going to cope with work and know that another trip to the doctor is needed.

The job I do, whilst important, is certainly not life saving and I know it'll be there long after I've left. I just know that pretty soon HE is going to insist that I see the work doctor as if I'm off next week it will be a month already. If I can manage it, I'd like to do half days next week and maybe even the week after to get back into the swing of things. However, I will take your very good advice and not return to work if the doctor advises otherwise.

I am indeed resting today, this morning really shook me up as I thought I was on the road to recovery. I'm seeing DGDs for an hour tomorrow, as its half term and DS and DDIL need to nip out for an hour. Then if I'm off or half day on Tuesday I will see them for a bit longer if I'm well enough.

In a minute I'm going to make myself a nice warm cup of peppermint tea and sit eagerly in wait for the pizza delivery.

    Speak again soon all
