Ha, I love that 'Confessions' thread! I've only read a couple of pages so far but a good half of them could've been written by me! I've bookmarked it to read properly later today.

Well I went back to the doctor's this morning and he wasn't happy with the way I looked or sounded so another course of strong antibiotics and another week off work.
Rang to talk to HIM but HE'd taken the day off so spoke to old boss. Explained about meeting tomorrow and he said HE'd probably reschedule it as there is no-one else to do it in my absence. How annoying, I bet HE'll rearrange it for next week when I'm back but maybe not as HE may consider that I may still be off then.
Had DGD2 for 2 hours on my own and we went out for a quiet slow stroll around the shops and for a coffee. It was delightful, she is such a little angel, she lights up my every moment with her. We picked DGD1 up from school and she was so happy to see me it really added to the pleasure of the day. We came back to my house and played for 2 hours, with OH, until their DM and DF picked them up. I'd been slightly dreading it as I'd been so unwell and though gorgeous they can be a hand full and a half at times but today they were just brilliant. I've missed their happy little faaces so much. DGD1 told her teacher she was "So happy because I haven't seen my Granny for ages"and DGD2 actually said "Granny" properly for the first time today. My heart is swelling with joy at the memory.
Not a nsd againbut fairly lsd.
Booked car into garage for MOT on Wednesday, only to realise it's a week too early to preserve the MOT date so I'll have to move it to next week. Oops, won't tell OH until I've rearranged it, normally it takes him a week to get around to doing it for me, can't believe I only asked him yesterday and he booked it today.
Anyway, off to bed now, not sure how much sleep I'll get as it's blowing a gale out
Night all

Have you tried Asda for cheap vitamin/supplements they are normally quite reasonable. I think it takes a long time to get over proper flu and it can leave you very low, the doctor did the right thing by giving you another sick note. At least you sound like you had a lovely day with the little ones.0

Hi Granny, just dropping by to say Hi! Had a quick read over the last few pages (I'm watching my time to pick DS up from school!). Hope the probiotics and antibiotics are doing the trick.
Hubbies can be frustrating, especially when we try so hard to make every little saving, spend hours surfing the internet to compare prices etc. I don't know if it helps, but I generally found having a right good cry about something usually jolted him into action now and again. (I am heartless and therefore tears were quite a serious thing when occuring withing 5 miles of me). I used simple things like asking him to save £20 a week from what he would usually spend at work. Telling him thats £1000 in one year illustrated how making a little saving could help us make inroads into larger debts.
Worth a try? Stay frugal Granny we love you for it xxLBM 30/6/9 Unsecured debts [STRIKE]£25,323.48[/STRIKE] £0 :T Debt free

Lucky it was just what the doctor ordered tbh and although I was shattered after they left, I sat on the sofa smiling about the day.
G how lovely to hear from you, that is a really good suggestion re the £20/£1000, I think I'll give it a go. As for the tears, I'm not ashamed to say that sometimes happens and he tries really hard to change, sadly it doesn't usually last for long. The change that is, not the tears
I think HE has just tried to ring me on my office phone instead of my home phone. Well if it was I refuse to answer that phone and HE'll just have to remember to ring me on the other one. I could be wrong, it could be someone else ringing as the number just registers as the general office and not the extension number that rang.
Going back to bed for a bit as I'm still tired, plus its cold so if I got up now, I'd have to put the heating on.

My young grandson called the other day to wish me Happy Birthday. He asked me how old I was, and I told him, 80. My grandson was quiet for a moment, and then he asked, "Did you start at 1?"
