Oh rubbish just caught up with this the thing I swear by after poorliness is M3tat0ne and its relatively cheap. A cheaper option might be e.g. Value probiotics and above?

Hope you continue to feel better

Thanks Missrlr, I'll keep that in mind, the probiotics are to replace the good bacteria in my body that the strong antibiotics will have depleted. If I continue to feel washed out I'll get the metat0ne, although from memory I don't think it tastes very pleasant.

I had a very lazy afternoon yesterday, catching up on diaries and just surfing the net as OH was watching sport. I went downstairs to eat my tea and he was rather the worse for wear, having drunk for the 1st time since NYE. He ate his tea and then picked up the laptop, having 1st decide for me what I was going to watch on tv. I decided that wasn't what I wanted so swanned off back upstairs. He looked rather surprised and asked me where I was going and why I didn't want to watch it, to which I replied "I'm going upstairs to keep myself company as clearly you are not interested in doing so" Oops :o

It backfired slightly though as I couldn't sleep last night and found myself reading until 3.30am which meant I slept in this morning. Again oops :o

I was hoping to go out for an hour or so today but its horrid out and I've missed the chance of OH taking me as there is more sport on this afternoon. I could go out on my own but where's the fun in that. Oh well, more surfing the net and diary land for me today I think.

Probably be back to chat later.

Granny, plain whole yogurt is your best probiotic friend, and cheaper. Add honey if you don't like the taste.

Hope you feel better today. Have you ever read a book about the 5 Love Languages? It is an eye opener about how different people express or perceive loving actions. My DH needs to be told that I love him, whereas I express love by doing things for him: I find it hard to say "I love you".
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?

Thanks Satchmo, I normally do eat plain yoghurt but because I have been so poorly and the antibiotics so strong DD suggested the probiotics. To be fair to OH he did pay for these despite their cost but I suppose that is one of the things that got me down yesterday. If he wants/needs something he gets it, whereas I have to ponder over whether I can afford it and what I can avoid paying this month. This is my fault as I allowed our money to remain separate despite living together for 17+ years and so his bonus/overtime is his to do as he wants. I try very hard to dig us out of this debt hell while he just carries on as though little has changed, despite knowing how things are if not the amounts.

I haven't read that book, sounds like one I should give a go. OH tries his hardest but is so emotionally lazy it beggars belief really. We have "chats" now and again about how carp he makes me feel but nothing changes for long. We muddle along ok usually and have a quiet understanding but every now and then his attitude winds me up and I bite back.

After spending the morning asleep, I've spent the last 2 hours reading the Confessions of a very tired old styler thread. OMG it is so funny - link here

This is a post that has had me giggling so much, I've spat blackcurrant squash all over my laptop and now have to clean it.

"Spare room - im ashamed to even open the door - mortified when i lost the gas man the other day - might go and throw a sandwich in there later just so hes kept fed - never saw him leave, could still be in there for all i know."

If you are in need of cheering up or are feeling overwhelmed by housework, give it a read. I can't guarantee you'll get anything done but Oh my goodness it's Sooooooooo funny and I've only got to page 16.

glad to hear you got the antibiotics. feeling sick really gets you down after a while. i had my cold and then sinus infection for 21 days and that was after the norovirus. I too thought of vits etc but have ended up just eating properly and feel fine now thank goodness.

I hope you continue to gain your strength x

Thanks Lam you poor thing that must have been awful x

Started reading a free book on my e-reader last night and this was in the 1st paragraph

Mum- As I said before, we really must economize somehow, and the question is where to begin

DD - I saw some hints in a magazine the other day.... It says you can halve your expenses if you only try. It gives 10 recipes..
    1) Dispense with servants

So there you have it dear fellow mse'ers we can all be so much better off if we just dispense with those pesky servants :rotfl: If only it were that easy eh!

Ah, a general pick me up. Well ...... Actually ....... The science says a bacterium splits every 2 hours but can do this every 30 mins if it doesn't have a lot of mates about and a good food source. So it is an exponential increase ..... 1 to 2 to 4 to 16 and so on.
so all you need is 1 bug left in your digestive system and give it some food, carbs or sugar. And let it do its stuff. Clearly not with antibiotics a the same time!

    MSE option right there ....
