Thanks both, lots of rest, in fact today I felt like I'd had too much. It's at times like this that I wish I had DD or DM or even oldest sister close to hand as need some personal things that OH will struggle to bring himself to get. He's not the best when dealing with illness, especially not being 100% himself.
He has tried really hard not to glower at my frequent coughing and trips to the loo this evening but I can see its wearing him down. He looked concerned when I told him I'd coughed so much I was sick over my knickers though:eek:
I don't really feel ill now, just exhausted from doing nothing all week except cough. I had my soup this afternoon and OH made salmon and mash for tea which I managed to eat so a step in the right direction. Now to shift this muck off my chest.
DD has given me a broth recipe to help with phlegm, (sorry!!) which I'll try tomorrow. TBH I'll try anything right now, just want this thing gone now, enough is enough. My chest sounds like a purring cat, very disconcerting.

That cat and snowball funny is hysterical :rotfl:
Glad you're feeling better. You have heard of the the rumour that easing back into things helps, rather than rushing headlong? Just thought I'd mention it as I don't want to read that you having been doing masses and had a relapse! The broth recipe sounds interesting, bet it's chicken thoughTotal debt at October 2008: £67,213.30

Not chicken, all vegetarian, chilli, garlic, tumeric, ginger, cloves, lime juice, (cos I've got no lemons), cinnamon, all chopped and mixed with boiling water to infuse and drunk/eaten raw.
I'm not up to rushing anything tbh so not much chance there. I spent the night coughing and have now got a really sore tummy, near a hernia repair site, (which was caused by a previous operation to that). I tried to ring the doctors this morning but only the emergency out of hours service is on today so it'll have to be Monday.
OH came to see me at 10am and I just couldn't keep my eyes open from having coughed all night. He did comment how many times I got up to go to the loo. I was a bit snappy because I felt like he was moaning at how much I'd disturbed him but now I'm not sure that's what he meant. I fell back to sleep and have just woken up. Now I've got a fuzzy head as though I've slept too long
About to get up and attempt this broth, I've got my fingers crossed that it works.
Back later I'm sure

The broth was the most disgusting thing I've ever had and didn't seem to do much except make my poor cracked lips tingle even more and my throat numb for a while. I'm still barking but other than low energy I'm not ill any more, which is a blessing.
I've had to put off having DGDs this weekend though, I'm not up to it and don't want to risk reinfecting them either.
I'm off to bed now, having managed to stay up since 1.30pm, which is the longest I've been out of bed in a week. Only sat on the sofa mind, well between trips to the loo and trips to the kitchen for drinks that is. Hoping to manage some undisturbed sleep tonight, fingers crossed.
Talk tomorrow
