I tend to think if an employee of the respective bank posts information on this sight it must be correct info they are providing. However a in case point was when I contacted Lloydstsb contact centre a few months ago regarding an arranged overdraft facility.

I said to the advisor I understood that if you were overdrawn say that day before 3.30pm and you paid in cash or transferred monies from another account and reached the overdrawn account by 3.30pm then no fee would be charged or interest would be applied. However the advisor
was adamant I was wrong. It was only until I spoke to a supervisor who in turn spoke to a group of Managers who were at the time in a "huddle" confirmed I was correct.

So based on that even well meaning employees who post here can be wrong. If it were a choice between BugsBrowne and an insider I know who I would take more notice of!

    ...an update.

I called asking for a premier account and they said no last week, because it IS based on credit reference information and internal scoring. They will only upgrade to the Silver account in this instance, and nothing above.

I logged on to my online banking this morning and the option was there to apply all the way up to the premier account.

I called Lloyds and asked, they said yes I was elegible to upgrade, but I have CPD marker on my account. However, my internal score had improved. They stated they review this between the 16th and 20th each month and base decisions on money in vs. money out, activity on the account and what's on your credit file.

The guy I spoke to said I have the best internal score, but still have the CPD marker on, so no lending.

However, in his opinion, that CPD marker is likely to drop off in a few months due to my increasing score.

    So there's the answer!

Your credit is like chalk & cheese you have the best internal score from a bank yet you have to pay capital one for them to take you as a customer.

    Friendly banter;)

You can have a good internal score and a bad credit rating - both are mutually exclusive I believe as far as Lloyds go.

I think the internal rating is based on how you run your account with Lloyds, which I run impeccibly, so should have a great internal rating with them.

Still think £300 is a lot to pay for a bank account unless you benefit from it of course.

£300 isn't a lot to pay when you do benefit from the packages.

I've saved a fortune by changing over to an added value account and I like the convenience of having one number/one website to contact.

So far, I'd say I've had my moneys worth having broken down once in the car, and had two trips abroad.

Never use to be like that. I remember when i first opened an account with Lloydstsb in 1983. I asked for a temporary overdraft of £150 and was agreed. A few months later I requested the £150 to be made more permanent. The Assistant Manager said if it was up to me no problem but the Manager does not like you. How things have changed.

I moved my account to a branch near where I worked and have been there every since. Liked them so much i even ended up working for Lloydstsb for a few years.
  • I had a similar problem, I went into my branch and they can over ride the upgrade I think the internal scoring system is based on your out goings....In my case I explained to them that by upgrading me to premier, I would be able to cancel most of my expensive insurance policies as they come under their benefits package with that account.

They agreed and made a call and it was done! I hope that helps.

It's not' lloyds scores are risk bandings 1-9 not how much goes out, same as HSBC where there's is 1-100 & stars.
