Lloyds TSB Premier - without credit facilities

Options
Does anybody know if it's possible to apply for a Lloyds TSB premier account (I have a Lloyds TSB Silver account presently) without the credit facilities?

I cannot upgrade past silver at the moment due to internal score, apparently.

The short answer would be no. Even if you requested no overdraft or cheque book the account still has the facility to provide it.

How did you apply for the account. Online or in branch?

OP already has a silver account which comes with cheque book and ability to have an unauthorised overdraft.

I did not even think they scored internally for the premier account as you pay for the account and if you don't pay they just take the facility away.

Do you have a OD on the Silver account?

Well in that case, id imagine that if the upgrade was applied for in branch with a banking advisor then the decision came down to suitability. The advisor would most probably have to prove that the op had need for the insurances on the account. If they can't prove the need, they can't sell the product.

I do not have an overdraft on the account, nor would I want one!

They DON'T do an internal score to upgrade from a silver to a gold account, anyone who is willing to pay even more cash a month for their bank account can.

Same with most banks they thrive on upgraders more money for them.

There is certainly nothing wrong in having an overdraft facility and can be useful in the odd emergency. I have an OD facility of £10k with Lloydstsb but it does not mean I have use it.

I take from your comments you can not trust yourself with credit so perhaps it is better not to go there.

Not quite sure why you'd want a £10K OD facility, as it's not being used. £1k is more than enough for emergencies on my OD and I've never had a cause to use that either but good to know it's there.

They do. Just because your eligible for one doesnt mean your eligible for all.
Can I find out my credit score?
You do not have a single credit score or rating. Different organisations take different information into account when working out your credit score and may have different scores for different products. (Kindly from Experian)

Depends on your lifestyle and interpretation of emergency I suppose.
