    Hi All

At a loss what to do today - my plan of going to the local pub beer garden for a BBQ doesn't sound appealing at the moment with this rain, especially since the actual inside pub is quite small and we'll be unlikely to get a seat.

Yesterday I did a HUGE clean of the house - everything was out of the cupboards, polished, hoovered, mopped etc. Quite satisfying once it's done. :D

Just going to wait for my friends to wake up and decide what to do. If nothing happens I'll grab a freezer meal (HM) and slob out with daytime TV.

    Hope everybody is well. :)

Oh dear my budget has been spent and I still have 19 days to go:eek: To be honest I think I set it a bit low this month as this is the first time I have done the GC since going GF. I am going to attempt to list my cupboards and freezer today as they are stuffed full of food and will meal plan for the next 2 weeks.

Used a £5 off £40 in Mr T to get the months dog food and some beers for DH for the weekend.

I made a nice GF pasta bake last night, ate one portion and the rest are going in the freezer for my lunches. I am making a pavlova this morning and am going to try adapting my favourite quorn pie into a GF butter bean pie to have with roast potatoes and veg for tea:) May also make the mini fritatta I made last weekend for Mums visit for DH for lunch. Even DS, aged 2, ate them and they were full of veg. Mind, he eats more than I do so that's not such a suprise:rotfl:

ETA: Will update exact figure when I am back at work next week as I have been keeping track on my work PC

I went GF over 2 years ago and you soon learn how to shop for it. I always raid the reduced meats, and freeze a lot of it, I go through stacks of GF pasta and rarely eat bread anymore because its just :silenced:

If you need any help give me a shout :)
  • :eek:I need to get some action in the kitchen today as Ive not had chance last couple of days as DH admitted to hospital with a clot on the lungs. Kept in for a few days so all planning out of the window!:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
must make "proper food" as Ive bought it. we did get roast chicken yesterday and homemade bread at least! Just been catching up with some of the things DH does like emptying the bins. So Ive just washed tthem out. Lots of receipts to put into my diary. Has a splurge on clothes yesterda-trawled the charity shops and got about £150 worth for about £28 including 2 brand new items. I rarely get this lucky so as I found it-I bought it!:rotfl:

Angelatgraceland, all the best of wishes for a full speedy recovery for your OH :(

We've not been able to go for day 2 of the survival event as my back is still as bad. I've had muscle relaxants and pain killers which knocked me asleep again until 12 noon and they haven't touched it.:(
I REALLY did too much yesterday and boy am I paying the price!

OH won't take the kids on his own as its so windy and blustery. Bit of a wussy really. ;) It wouldn't have phased me at all as you dress accordingly.

OH arranged for us to go to the inlaws for our tea after the event so is gonna take em early now we can't attend.

    No more cooking today:j

I have a fridge n freezer groaning with leftovers so at least that'll keep us going with even more NSDs.

Best wishes for your OH angelatgraceland - you must be so worried.

I've had a small spend today in A1d! - 39p on some fig rolls ready for when mum and dad come over later to help me paint my room (landlady bought all the paint and rollers and stuff :D ), and also £1.79 on a set of 2 dip boxes which I think are a brilliant idea - they're just a square box with like a little raised bowl in the middle, so you put your veggies on the outside and your houmous or whatever in the middle!

So adding that £2.18 on, brings me to a total so far of £40.78/£70. My budget is disappearing at a rate of knots!!!
