I wonder how much extra money is made by people not checking their bills - I know I certainly never used to (but certainly do now!:D) - however, I really must start doing it before I leave the car park as it's an 18 mile round trip and I sometimes forget to take the receipt back if it's a couple of weeks before I'm back in again:(

I was in town on another errand and wanted a few extra pieces as DS is around for a few days. Normally I would go to Aldi or Lidl but I couldn't wait around until they opened so went to Tesco which I was passing anyway.

I couldn't believe the price of veg in there but I had to get some for the pork goulash which is bubbling away now in the SC. I also bought a side of salmon for £10 to freeze as it's so much better value than buying a couple of steaks at a time. At the till I was ushered rather unwillingly to another till for baskets which was manned (or rather womaned) by a really dozy specimen. She started putting my goods through before the young man in front of me who just had one item. He had to go to a DIY checkout.

I was shocked by the bill, but expected to be as all the individual items were more than I would normally pay, but as I checked the bill I noticed the checkout lady had put the salmon through twice!!! I then had to hang around for five minutes and was then sent to customer service for a refund.

I confess I did know about Tesco's double the difference policy but thought it had finished, so I was delighted to receive £20 back making that particular shop even cheaper than Aldi or Lidl! It beat a good YS find as well. I will update my sig later but have failed the challenge this month already.

mr T is despicable, i was overcharged the other day when i went in and the cashier had the cheek to say she had put 2 things through when we had only bought 1  never going there again . I am going to try and support small local retailers as much as possible now

I read somewhere that $ainsburys have disabled the quantity button on their tills so the staff have to scan each item BUT this doesn't really work when said checkout operator scans the same item 10 times over and miscounts how many you have

Looking quite promising outside - nice & sunny but there's a cold wind ..... where's summer!

I simply can't understand how a pack of steak that is pricemarked £5.23 can be charged at £8 + ? I'm sure lots of people have been overcharged in this way and I hate it when you buy something thats on offer only for the promotion not to be honoured at the tills. I bought some brioche rolls recently - when they went through at full price - I complained - they wouldn't have it that they were on offer until I pointed out the huge promotion sign ....

Have just been to Sainsburys, they had rump steak packs with stickers on saying half price. I picked one up but on looking at the price per kilo it was £11.90. I thought it could not possibly have been £23.80 full price. Looking closer the shelf label promotion said 25% off.

You have to be so careful not to be taken in.

Angelatgraceland, all the best of wishes for a full speedy recovery for your OH :(

We've not been able to go for day 2 of the survival event as my back is still as bad. I've had muscle relaxants and pain killers which knocked me asleep again until 12 noon and they haven't touched it.:(
I REALLY did too much yesterday and boy am I paying the price!

OH won't take the kids on his own as its so windy and blustery. Bit of a wussy really. ;) It wouldn't have phased me at all as you dress accordingly.

OH arranged for us to go to the inlaws for our tea after the event so is gonna take em early now we can't attend.

    No more cooking today:j

I have a fridge n freezer groaning with leftovers so at least that'll keep us going with even more NSDs.

Aw JJ do take it easy your back can so easily be permanently damaged by trying to do too much. If the pain killers work you think its OK to carry on and its not ,the pain is your body telling you to stop.
