  • Evening all,
Have been out doing the monthly shop today. Went to a!di as its near the uni and spent £26 although I had a list of MrT's prices so only bought things that were cheaper. Got two quiches and mince that we're half price, drinks were a lot cheaper. Also yogurts, took advantage of their super six and a few other bits off the list. didn't seem to see bread flour or dried/tinned beans so don't know if it's a smaller than normal store?
Then went onto Mr T where I spent £74.05  original total was £98.31 but had 13.11 in multi buys and 11.15 in coupons (this included £7.27 in impulse buys thanks to OH  and £4 in beer). A few "value" things I wanted weren't there so bought them at slightly more expensive prices. My logic was it would be better to spend an extra 20p or 50p now rather than pop out for them at a later date. Now seems daft as there more store cupboard items. Never mind. So Running total of 105.07/£140 already! Mum is coming on Tuesday so did buy fizzy water for her and a few other bits. But have lots of tins and packets so I know it'll literally only be topping up fresh fruit/veg etc. also got the bits for gloop making :)
Have pasta sauce from the freezer as we're going to the cinema tonight, but had a biggish lunch so we're still full so that will roll over until tomorrow lunch. Have nibbles here for the cinema, not paying their prices! We'll probably make a butty for tea if we eat now. Going to OH's work do tomorrow night so won't need dinner. FIL has been trying to persuade us to go to his as he's a mountain of BBQ food that needs using so maybe won't need to plan Sunday's tea either, we'll see. But over the weekend will do a planner for next week including the fresh fruit and veg we've got today.

Off to update the signature....bye for now xx

    I'm back in please!
Its a 4 shop month for me so I'm going to go mad and say £100 all in - that's for me and a dog but his once a month stock up comes from Pets at Home and out of a different budget, his extras, treats etc, come out of the GC budget.
I'll include household stuff, toiletries and all food and drinks (non alcoholic). I take packed lunches to work and try to cook most evening meals.
I'm hoping to go on hols in August so extra pounds in the bank rather than in the supermarket will definitely help.

My budget starts on June 1st but I don't need to shop until next weekend.

Thanks to everyone involved in keeping the thread going and to everyone else that posts.

    Hi everyone!

I've been a bit absent off MSE since I got back from SA mid April, and consquently my spending has gone a bit mad, and in particular groceries! Need to reign it in, especially as i'm moving out of mum and dads a week today, into a shared house, so will have possibly less storage space (although don't have loads here!), so I need to be planning my meals properly again and only shopping for what I need!!!

In the last couple of weeks I've been trying to use up what I can from my tins stock and freezer stock, and I have made sizeable dents, but I'm still concerned over whether I'll have too much stuff... eek! So I need to only really be buying fresh stuff, which to be fair is what I have been doing recently anyway!

I'd like to declare £70 for my June budget, which begins 31st May (Thursday) and will run until 28th June as I get paid on 29th June.

Hope everyone is well - I'm really looking forward to getting back in the swing of this!!! Oh, and where I'm moving, the A1d! is even closer than the giant Mr T (which itself is only 6 min drive)!!! Happy days!!!
