PS - Welcome back Elsiepac - we've missed you

    Aww, thanks Suffolk lass!!! :o

Ok guys, I need meal plan for the next week - here's what I have as big things - I also have all the usual herbs, spices etc. Need to use as much as poss, in as least a fattening way as poss, and ensuring I get a MINIMUM of 5 a day!!! Ye gods what demands!!! Ideas appreciated...

    Tins:
    1x value chopped toms
2x finest cherry toms (not too bothered about using these as like to keep them for special!)
    2x cartons passata
    3x kidney beans
    1x butter beans
    1x blackeyed beans
    1x 3 bean salad
    1x spicy bean salad
    1x light baked beans
    1x RF coconut milk

    Packets:
    4.6x packs wholewheat spaghetti
    0.6x pack wholewheat penne
0.5x pack wholewheat noodles (3 nests)
    0.6x pack lentilles vertes
    1x pack millet
    0.8x pack pearl barley
0.1 pack red lentils (about 50g)
    1x pack wholewheat couscous
    1x pack long-grain rice

    Frozen:
    0.5x bag sweetcorn
    1.5x bags roasted med veg
    2x bags Qu0rn mince
2x veggie main course items (1 nut loaf thing and one mexican salsa bake thing)

I have sauces and stuff too, like pesto, harissa, mustard, lemon juice, lime juice etc

I don't have much fresh as have used most of it this week, but I do have most of a cuke that desperately needs using, and 2 beetroot from the super 6. Plus a mozz ball and a bag of rocket. However, found a nice salad recipe for these, so only the cuke to use up, otherwise need fresh stuff desperately!!!:D

    LC

PS - I know chilli is the obvious but in this weather I can't bring myself to do it...!!!

    Hi all,

What fantastic weather, Been building a picnic bench and also painted it. Managed to cut the grass too, so the garden looks much neater.

Having 20+ people round for a BBQ tomorrow, so been out to do the shop.

Aldi £12.23 Baking Pots, pop, alcohol

    M&S £17.28 & £15.98 Burgers, Wine, chicken for BBQ. Used 2 x £5 MOCS.

Mr T's £36.48 Fruit, ice lollies, crisps, beer, rolls, sausages, was £56.86, but used price flop MOCS.

    Total £81.97:cool:

Got loads of stuff, and my mum also got me a load of sausages, and my sister will bring round her glitch Mr T BBQ stash.

Will have to see how I get on with the budget, as lowered my GC to £220! It could be a long month!!!

Thanks for the shiny new thread, all who run it, and all who post!!

    Sally.

It is a long month for me so going to go for £375. I work on £75 per week. I tried dropping my budget last month and was over so I am going to go back to my normal amount. I am comfortable with that amount and if I can come in under that will be a bonus.

Hello elsiepac - I'm not very good at meal planning, but you could make a cold pasta salad with cooked penne and the beans, tomatoes and a sauce. You could make a pizza with the passata and mozz ball, and Quorn spag bol. That's 3 to start with that don't feel like 'cooking' in this hot weather. HTH :)

How strange - I was just thinking yesterday that we hadn't seen Elsiepac on here for a while, and now here you are! Premonition!! I hope you enjoy living in a new place. More freedom?

I need to work out my £/day again now, as I have bought loads of things today. I have also emptied all the boxes of food in my dining room so I can begin to confront the crazy situation I'm in...

Hi all my budget starts from monday, i usually do the 1st-1st but i will be going shopping on monday for the week yet all i really need is milk and bread, however theres no point doing several runs during the week and wasting desil, i will be parking at tesco and walking to iceland for eggs and milk (it's 90p for 2litres but they charge 40p parking hence the walking) going to tesco for value philly and then off to lidl on he way home for bread seems abit round about but everythings on the way iykwim and a walk will do us good, gonna grab a sack of souds from the farm shop aswell.

My budget for this month is £70 but i'm hoping to do it in 30, i have a meal plan done til the 18th, i need just under £15 for all the stuff above, then milk and bread for the next 2 weeks at around £4 each week, at that point i will be doing a meal plan until the end of the month using stuff in and i will prob need some fruit aswell.
