Hi all,
I'd like to join in for June! Have seen the thread before and been mulling it over, but we definitely could do with having a better idea of our spends.
I'm going to go with my estimate this month, and look at cutting it next month. So £350 for the month.
That is for myself and two toddlers, one of whom is in full time nappies and the other just nighttime. We all have different milk, as DD is milk intol so I have to get her oat milk which is £1.39 a litre! And I am dieting, so there are some things I'm prepared to spend on for that (cheaper than buying new clothes lol)
The children go to nursery 3 full days a weeks and have their meals there, and I take pack up to work those same days.
Nice to meet you all!

Welcome Bossymoo! What a nice introduction. You will soon get into the swing of things and kick yourself for not joining earlier.
I did so much talking today (on the phone) that I got a sore throat. I thought I would have a hot lemon and honey and as I had run out of lemons until I am in town tomorrow, I had to use the local N*sa store. Four pathetic, thick skinned and not very juicy specimens for £1.79 - eek! I normally buy five reasonable ones in A*di for 79p. As it's a 25 mile round trip to the SMs rural folk like me don't have much choice.
I am busy considering what I might dehydrate in my new toy, bearing in mind I will be moving in late summer. The dried foods take up so little room and it would be a shame to miss out on really well-priced summer fare...Solar Suntellite 250 x16 4kW Afore 3600TL dual 2KW E 2KW W no shade, DN15 March 14

MrT sent me £13 off £90, and then three lots of £9 off a £90 with my 'No Clubcard Vouchers' letter. They must be missing me :rotfl:.
Still not done anything about the sprouting potatoes mountain. Need to do some research and deal with them tomorrow night.
Lots of F&V had gone up in MrA this morning, value grapes up 20p, value peppers up 35p, cucumbers are up by 40p, and iceberg by 50p! We will cope without thanks.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -

Grocery Spend Weekly Challenge (Sat-Fri):£30.50/£400 -
Hi
Thank goodness its Friday tomorrow, this week has been a bit of an odd one, so glad to see the back of it!!
First spend of £79.11 at Mr T's more than I was hoping but got a fair amount of ys bits and pieces, so the freezers are back to nearly bursting!
Hope everyone has a good bank holiday weekend0 -
Another £3 for me tonight on a 'meal deal' from sainsbobs
I go to college straight from work on a Thursday and usually take my lunch and tea but due to the weather being hot i didnt want warm sandwich!
Also on a thursday night when we have our break about 7:30pm sainsbobs are always reducing their sandwichs to about 75p- but guess what? NO reductions tonight

After adding up Mays spends I'm horrified and so angry with how we've shopped recently. We {sorry, I mean I] know all the supermarket tricks and we're normally good at using them instead of us being used by them but we've slipped. We were well over our May target, we have full freezers and cupboards so we are now on a drive to shop more smartly from now on. I've sat down with DH and really made him listen to how supermarkets are conning us with the majority of their offers, I didn't think he was getting it until he came home tonight and talked about an offer he'd seen in the co-op and how he thought it was a good offer until he worked out unit cost and compared it with other shops and then the LightBulb Moment hit him - it was interesting to see him working it out and realising what I've been saying is the truth!!!! He is now FULLY on board and ready to play them at their own game lol, infact he's out for vengance!
So with our goals in mind I drew out cash for this weeks shop and boy has it made me more aware of what I'm spending and where its going. First time I've done it with cash, won't be the last.

Had small words with Mr C when shopping, we like a usual sauce mix for making a quick tea, I spotted an own brand one that could do the same thing if I added some chilli and garlic, it was half the price of the branded one but he wouldn't budge, sticking to his but I like that one line. So next week I'm going to pick up one of the cheaper sauces, make tea with it and see if notices! I tried to explain about the down grading brands to save money but he's convinced you sacrifice flavour/quality etc, how can I show him it won't if he won't try it
I'll bet he doesn't notice any difference if you don't tell him. I'm lucky that my OH is always up for trying new things, and knows that most of the time there is no difference between the own brands and the top brands (although it took a while for it to sink in at first, lol!), but when I try a new recipe using food we've not tried before, I don't tell him what's in it until he's tried it and he usually likes it. He thinks he doesn't like worcester sauce, and was surprised to see me put it in the trolley last week as we don't use it, little does he know it is put in quite a lot of the homemade meals that he loves so much, sometimes you just have to be sneaky, lol!
I'm going for another £130 for June.Weight loss challenge 2/10lbs

Never forget the REAL honey and lemon! A spoonful or so of each(store cupboard items) in a cup of hot water!(and a paracetamol or aspirin). I never buy the chemist ones. ;+) I just keep a bottle of Asda/tesco lemon juice. We are lucky that we produce our own honey.Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults0
