Feeling chuffed. Went town to take back my Swiss army knife which was labelled as £11.99 but charged at £24.99. I also noticed when I got home that there was an ex display label on. We bought so much stuff during that visit that I never noticed the price.
I only checked the receipt as the gas cooker we bought at £9.99 was £8.99 at B&M. They have a price promise pledge so I was going to take it back.

Well they let me have the Swiss army knife at £11.99 with a 10% discount. The gas stove was refunded £1 and an extra 10% off. :j

I went straight into pound land and bought enamel plates, inflatable pillows, emergency blankets, water bottles, kit bag and travel bags with the refunded money and only had to put a few quid to it!!!

Whilst in town, the smell of bacon from cafes was killing me. I was sooooo hungry. I waited til I got home and we have all had bacon and mushroom baps instead!!!!!:A

    Debt-free and Proud!
Hi all. I am trying not to start my shopping until next week, have put what I need into the Tesco website, it's coming out at just under £25. Will have to see if I can do better on the day!

Re: till spits - I have found them useful but I get a bit disappointed when I don't spend enough to use them!I never spend £40 in Tesco at one time - do you think it's worth doing just to get the £5 off?

    Good luck everyone.

I'm a bit disappointed with hukd alerts for Lidl.
When buying screws today at wilkos (to finish the kids home made herb planter!) I nipped in Lidl for the 39p cucumber. They were actually 59p:(
The weekend offers that were advertised earlier are not the same in my local. I was looking forward to the BBQ sausages, instead it's mince AGAiN.
On the plus side though, I was going to get a watermelon this weekend as we are hosting a sing star evening on Saturday. (Think karaoke but everyone brings a dish with them!!!!). I was planning to just do a huge spot the meat chilli, thermal cooker pot of rice and HM margarita pizzas with a platter of watermelon triangles (cos they look so pretty arranged on a plate!). Everyone else is bringing something so there will be plenty to go around and hopefully plenty of leftovers.
The watermelons are £1.99 this weekend. I will get 2 or 3 as they last pretty well and we could happily live on them in the summer :)

OH pulled a pack of meat out earlier and has made a very meaty lasagne with green beans. Very tasty but no leftovers :(

The kids herb planter looks awesome. They have made mini planters that are raised at each end too. When it's filled with soil I might post a pic as I'm real proud of what they've done:j

Ps, thanks a million MrsC for the pm.
It is great having a herb guru on the thread for help and advice. Be prepared for advice requests in the not so distant future ;)

If they overcharge you, it is best to have it corrected at customer services. They have a double the difference policy if you are overcharged (although they rarely offer it unless you ask for it!)

Definitely complain on the 0800 number as they will give you a gift card.

NEVER leave the store without checking your receipt first. Tesco are abysmal at price integrity.

A huge amount of my big shops used to have pricing errors. I rarely do a big shop there anymore as I really don't like the company any more. My pennies are spent in every shop that is cheapest at the time for the items I need.

I second that! Whatever shop I am about to leave I check the recipt first. In Coop I often get the wrong deal through confusing ticketing and picking up the non deal items thinking Ive got the right ones! Tesc is indeed poor at getting things right-most mistakes are whoopsies that have gone through full price. The few moments it takes to check it after getting through the till(before getting to the carpark). My last one was chcikens in tesco-they needed to have a little blue sticker on them-otherwise identical to the non offer ones and iiiiiiiI think it was 3 for £12. The assistand on CS swapped the chciken for me but came back wth a skinny little thing same price. So I sent her off for a better one(nicely)!:rotfl:
