NSD here today, with lots of packing for our hols. We'll spend tomorrow on eating out on the way, but then we're off for a week and although we'll be spending some money it won't be on groceries, LOL!

If they overcharge you, it is best to have it corrected at customer services. They have a double the difference policy if you are overcharged (although they rarely offer it unless you ask for it!)

Definitely complain on the 0800 number as they will give you a gift card.

NEVER leave the store without checking your receipt first. Tesco are abysmal at price integrity.

A huge amount of my big shops used to have pricing errors. I rarely do a big shop there anymore as I really don't like the company any more. My pennies are spent in every shop that is cheapest at the time for the items I need.

wisewords and appreciated , i will ring and complain and i intend to not go there again for my shopping . i get less and less from the SM as i spread my shopping round the likes of £land, h0me bargs and the local shops. i would love to do away with SM all together but i cant afford to
  • Phew! I've caught up with everyone's posts!!

Please can you put me down for £400 for the month (£80 per week x 5 weeks for the 4 of us). I'm going to try my best to come within this budget this time. Thanks very much to those who run this thread :) and for all the advice!

Well my DH impressed me last night - while I went to yoga (I'd had jacket potato and cheese), he took leftover (raw) beef burgers from Tues night's dinner and moulded them around boiled eggs, rolled them in flour and cooked them in the oven. A bit like Scotch eggs. Very creative ;). Even better there was one left which I had for lunch today with salad! On Monday I cooked fish pie with 'sad looking' leeks and mushrooms - that was really tasty too :) and used up the slightly gone off veg.

Thank you all for your views on till spits at Mr. S. I think you're all right. I only started shopping at Mr S regularly recently and I've noticed that my till spits have been getting lower every week till they just disappeared. I'll probably just shop at Mr T for a couple of weeks and do a small shop at Mr S then to see if I get a till spit. I have a £7 off £50 shop for Mr T anyway so I can do a big shop that will last me 2 weeks :)

NSD for me and hopefully another one tomorrow and Saturday as well as I'm working. Not bad for the beginning of the month :)

Welcome to all the new people here :T It's great to see so many folks joining in :)

Hi MrsCookie - NSD's are what you want them to be. I just count grocery shopping as NSD's, but some count everything in. It's your GC, so just do it whichever way works for you :)
I've had two NSD's in a row :T I paid £20 for car tyres changed over yesterday, but not counting in, as not from grocery budget.

Hello cleggie - (if that's who you really are) :) It's funny how your whole outlook changes, isn't it, when you start doing this GC?

Well done on the camping shopping JJ - can I have some of your willpower, resisting those bacon sandwiches, please? :T

Almost finished the mountain of ironing, then I have to pick up DD later on. I wish the rain would stop now, because I have some veggies to plant out, then it can rain overnight and be sunny during the day ;)
Well we can always hope :D Off to finish the ironing....

I never spend £40 in Tesco at one time - do you think it's worth doing just to get the £5 off?

It depends ..... if I need a big shop (which £40 is to me), I will use a £5 off £40 one but if it's one where you have to spend £40 to get a £5 off a separate £40 shop, then it's a big NO!

Having to spend £80 to save £5 really isn't that great a deal IMHO

Hi all, I came under in my May budget so I'm going to try for £175 for June. I've told DH that we're having more nsd's and spending less on food. We've got plenty in to be used up.

Thank you all who look after us on this thread.

    Hi All

After just come under budget in May I would like to aim for £130 again in June. :D

Will use a £3 off £20 spend I got at Mr S today when I spent £1 to get some shopping on Saturday. I need to get a list ready - and STICK TO IT - because I'm so used to doing my big shops online at the moment since there is less temptation.

Hi all back in again this month following an appalling May. £350 for five weeks again. I will keep tally in my signature.
