I received a payment of £7, and a payment about £40 less than I have been getting, both on the same day, about ten days before my usual payment. No paperwork yet.
I'm single, getting CTC only with no childcare, and paid monthly.

My older son is leaving school but going to sixth form. I noticed on my tax renewal form that the amount to be paid would be reduced from 1st September, assumed it was because of my son being of school leaving age so when I called to renew tax credits I queried it. Told them my son would be doing an A level course from September, told their records would be updated. A couple of weeks later I received a form saying what this year's tax credits would be. It was still showing the shortfall. Phoned again. Was told quite sarcastically that the phone message I listed to at beginning of the telephone queuing system explained that if inforned a young person was going to sixth form, their records would be updated but until 1st September any forms sent out would exclude that 'child' from tax credit payment estimates. From 1st September, the official figure awarded will go up.

    1) I DID listen to the message and nothing of this sort was mentioned
    2) What a wasteful way to do things? I know not every 'child' who plans to go to sixth form will.., but surely its then up to the parent to tell Tax Credits and have awards updated accordingly.., why waste all this money sending an award notice out that the Tax Credits dept know is wrong for three months, telling me I am going to get less money than I will. I can't be the only person that wasted half an hour of my and their time to check up on what was going on? Plus there's going to be two sets of forms and postage.
    3) The message I listened to said I needed to tell Tax Credits the name, address of further education institution and course details so I cut the phone call and found the exact details. Phoned again, queued again.., only to be told none of this information WAS needed.

I shall make no further comment!

I had a similar problem. I renewed my claim with no changes (so I thought) and accurate P60 figures. This years award notice arrived with payments up until 1st September including both children after this they removed my eldest who will be 16. I had to call up to tell them my eldest will be staying on at school. They apparently reassess this in September and payments will go down during this time until it is sorted then a new notice will be issued.

We had to send childcare details to compliance officer, which we did via recorded delivery in May. Received a letter from them disputing the amount of childcare we had paid. They way it was worded made us feel like major tax fraudsters. The letter ended by saying or forth coming award would be altered due to the overpayment. We received this letter about three weeks ago.

We then waited for the award notice, which finally arrived yesterday. Felt a tad nervous opening the letter up. Found out the overpayment the huge sum of £73. These letters need to be worded better.

    Hiya

Is anyone else been waiting over 6 weeks?
I was told not to call until 4th July...which i did...the they told me someone would call me within 3 days but no one did....when I rang today they said its now taking 10 days for people to get call backs
I really don't understand what the hold up is and they dont explain anything to me...I am really worrying as I can't budget anything...
Is anyone else in the same boat? I don't even understand who is calling me back and why?
I gave them the correct figure from my p60 (minus my mat allowance £100 deducted per week for 39 weeks as I was on mat leave last year) I din't claim childcare last financial year, just from May this year when I went back to work so I am very confused...
Please someone help I am stressing so much over this...every other time I have renewed it has taken a matter of days :(

    Thanks :)

I also had the same thing this morning where they have had it since middle of may and was told someone would ring me in ten days. Did they ever ring you? The guy on the phone said they would call if any info was missing even though they have had everything and proof of my childcare costs twice this financial year.

Finally after three months my tax credit renewal has been processed and last year finalised.

I have never had a letter or phone call requesting any further information, nor have I ever received a call back from them when they stated they would call back!

All I know is that the renewal had to be manually processed and a new award notice issued manually - whether this was down to a problem with the system or whether they were checking my claim 'behind the scenes' I don't know but I am incredibly relieved that it has been sorted.

I hope everyone else has now had their renewal sorted.

Still not got my paperwork back, but as well as the extra payment, I got £40 extra in my normal payment. Thought it might be a bit more but still a nice surprise. So one month's grace, and then I'll have to contact them on 1st September to tell them eldest is starting uni, so it'll pretty much all disappear again!
