Im 10 weeks plus rung today for about the 6th time, to be told by the girl on the end of the phone the reason why my renewal as not been dealt with is cause when i renewed on the 27 April the advisor had put the information on as an estimate not actual. So my question was why wasn't i told this on 5 previous calls. she said she didn't know . How many more weeks i ask myself. So FRUSTRATING

I send them childcare contract, childcare receipts, child benefit info, bank statements, mortgage statements, p60, pay slips, gas/elec/telephone/sky bills plus a few other bits that I cant remember, everything from Jan-April this year, I cant see there being any problem with my claim just want get it sorted. Yes I am still getting my payments weekly as normal are you? I am going to ring them again next week for an update.

I had to send childcare receipts i also sent a letter of my childminder to say how may hours she's there and 12 months of bank statements i am a bit worried that they will query my bank statements as i owed my ex some money for various things so there are quite a few bank transfers on there to him that's why i'm to scared to ring lol

    Hiya

Is anyone else been waiting over 6 weeks?
I was told not to call until 4th July...which i did...the they told me someone would call me within 3 days but no one did....when I rang today they said its now taking 10 days for people to get call backs
I really don't understand what the hold up is and they dont explain anything to me...I am really worrying as I can't budget anything...
Is anyone else in the same boat? I don't even understand who is calling me back and why?
I gave them the correct figure from my p60 (minus my mat allowance £100 deducted per week for 39 weeks as I was on mat leave last year) I din't claim childcare last financial year, just from May this year when I went back to work so I am very confused...
Please someone help I am stressing so much over this...every other time I have renewed it has taken a matter of days :(

    Thanks :)

Hi, I renewed on the 23rd April - 11 weeks ago on Monday. I rang back on week 4, when I was told to if I hadn't heard anything to be told that they had the given my the wrong date for it to have been processed by. I then rang at 6 weeks (the revised date) and was told that I would receive a call back after 3 days - no call came so I rang 2 weeks later (8 weeks) and told that there was no reason they could see why it was taking so long, my renewal was not being checked nor did they need any other information from me but they would refer my renewal again and I would receive a call in 3 days (!!!) unsurprisingly no call came this time either.

I last called at 10 weeks (last week) and spoke to a lovely fella who was really helpful he put me on hold (for 20 mins!) whilst both him and his supervisor tried to *force* my renewal through but they had no luck, he was really apologetic when he said that all he could do was refer my renewal again. What did worry me about the whole conversation was 'well at least your payments haven't stopped yet!!!!'

So I am no further on, and I am aware of quite a few others that are in the same position, and a relatively small number of people have been asked for more information. I did ask my last advisor if I should just send a load of information in just in case, but he thought that would just over complicate things.

I am just playing the waiting game now, but do worry that my payments might stop which would be more than a little hassle for my family but the biggest issue I have (and it isn't TC fault) is that my granddad was really ill when I renewed and I rushed to get my renewal done when it came so that I could concentrate on him (I always dread talking to TC), unfortunately he died shortly after and I feel like this is the last 'loose end' that I need to tie up from that horrible period of time - I know this sounds silly but for some reason I can not separate the events!

Through work I deal with a lot of people who claim tax credits and I hear from people who are having problems with their renewal on a daily basis, so even though it feels personal it's not.

I know someone else who has been asked for the full years childcare receipts, this person has actually claimed for more than what she should of, I am so pleased I haven't overclaimed, not that I would do it. I don't think they will ask about the transfers to your ex, I think its one of the things they are asking for to prove you are who you are, well thats what I was told when I asked why they needed so much information from me, i have only sent info the the past 3 months maybe thats why they have asked me for allsorts of different evidence. I wish it was sorted now. I feel like they will be nosey looking at my bank statements but theres nothing I can do about it

I don't think i've over claimed but i wasn't sure about when my childminder take's a week off i have been keeping the money i only claim for £45 a week so it won't be a massive overpayment but they only tell you to notify them if it's a change for 4 weeks in a row. To be honest i'm worrying over nothing but i have read some bad stories and it's taking ages so that don't help i hope they sort your's soon. Can you let me know when you have heard something please.

Has anyone had payments change but waiting a long time to receive the paperwork?
  • Been waiting a week (tomorrow) for my paperwork. Received an extra payment last Tuesday & my usual payment has gone up a few quid. How long have you been waiting?
