  • A friend of mine had to produce hers for Bright House and for Provident loans.

She has also had it requested as proof of identity, similar to a utility bill showing her name and address.

    Wow impressed.
It seems that just 1 week after my telephone renewal my tax credits have been processed. A additional payment appearered in my bank yesterday and shows an amended payment for tomorrow (my normal payment day) I get WTC disability element. Had prepared myself for a long wait.

Yes, this will be my 13th week that I am entering since I renewed by phone and I have still heard nothing.

I am going to phone this week to give them one last chance to get it done or else I am going to my MP. This wait is passed what is acceptable even taking into account that they are busy....not to mention how riled I get when people are renewing and their claim is done and dusted in a week.

I have been told (when I called to change my bank details) that my renewal form was issued on the 18th June. I haven't received it yet.
I am due a payment tomorrow but my concern is when I do receive my pack and I call to renew that it may take weeks to process. Would I still get my next payment in 4 weeks if it takes longer than this to process my renewal?

Caz you should still get the regular amount you are getting now until it is processed, do not worry ;)

Well as usual I have found them highly efficient and organised, did our renewal over the phone last Thursday spoke to them this morning to update some new bank details, asked them while I was on the phone if it has been processed and yes it has been done, renewal notices due to go out in today's post, over for another year :)

I hope the people who have been waiting a while manage to get it all sorted soon.

Thank you, that's good to know :)

I received a payment into my new account and due one into my old account tomorrow when I changed my bank details a couple of weeks ago so be prepared for an extra payment. Good at the time but means we have been overpaid.
  • Hiya

Sorry If this does not make sence...
I renewed my tax credit over the phone on 23/5/12, usually they are done really quickly however this year I am still waiting.
I phoned in today and the guy said its gone to a different team and they are waiting on a finalised figure for last year??
I have read here many ppl have been asked to send in lots of evidence like p60 childcare etc...I asked if they needed any of this and he said no??
Does this seem right as I have not heard of this before?? Is this really all they can be waiting on? I have all the info just incase they need it as I am really worried the longer they take the more money I may owe them back. I was on mat leave last year.
I am a single claim with WTC and claim childcare for 2 children...
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.....
    Many thanks

    Hi
Jessica Claire, my situation is also Childcare for 2 little ones and I renewed on 23/4/12.

I have been waiting nearly 10 weeks so phoned again yesterday. I have phoned a number of times over the last couple of weeks with a couple of changes and each time enquired whether they needed any extra info for my renewal. Each time I was assured that they had all the information they needed. They then emailed another "department" to ask for it to be looked at, and have now received a letter requesting my childcare receipts for the year and a copy of the contract! When I spoke to the man in the other department,he had no idea why it had taken nearly 10 weeks to request the extra information.....

    Never mind another wait ahead...

PS I am not impatient but needed the new award notice to verify my income as I am returning to do my Masters in September and need a Career Development loan.
  • AWWW no what a pain, thanks for your response, I don't know what to do now as I am not being impatient either I am just worried of an overpayment as I am getting same as last year but I was on mat leave in the last tax year...
do you think I should chase again??
I don't understand as my friends took a week why do some take so long compared 2 others. I feel like I am being penalised for having childcare and being a single parent....

    Thanks for your help :)

    Hello Jessica Claire

I would not worry too much, I understand your anticipation over an over payment but there really is little you can do, it might be a good idea to go to one of the entitled to calculators, this site has a good one somewhere I will see if I can find the link to it in a moment, enter all your up to date details and it will spew out what you "should" be entitled to, from there you can see roughly what your new award will be, if it is significantly different then it might be a good idea to put the difference on one side, then if there doe end up being a over payment at least you can pay the majority back in one go, this way they will not need to take x amount of you every week.

I understand your frustration but as said it really is a case of waiting, they will not be rushed, it does seem unfair how quickly some people's awards get sorted compared to others but again we do not know the reason for this. Last year the self employed got a grilling, this year it may well be people who have childcare, I can understand why they check so hard and welcome it personally, they have been defrauded of millions over the years, a pain to the genuine people but a necessary pain.

I will have a look for that link now.
