  • Hi

I've not had my tax credits finalised as yet, 9 weeks. But today had a letter asking for all sorts of evidence, wage slips, p60, childcare receipts, council tax bill, phone/gas/electric bills, sky contract, bank statements, mortgage statement, child benefit info.. etc.... I rang the number have to send all the information requested not to delay anything and it could take til end July for my renewal to be finalised, any payments will be backdate to 6th April too. If anything is missing it could take longer, so I am going to send everything recorded deliverty to know that everything gets there safely . If anyone elses renewal is taking forever, I guess you will be getting a letter soon to provide evidence.

The girl also said on the phone all this information is to prove I am saying who I am and am claiming for the right number of children etc.... which I am, but said they have had so many bogus claims etc.......

if this is your first claim then this is very normal as they check everything,.....however if not then it is very strange and poss they want to check the info you have prev supplied???
  • I sent mine about 3 weeks ago and got an additional payment Thursday of approx £70 but this does not mean anything as I expect mine to drop quite a lot as my salary went up...so just be careful if you think you have got an extra lot and expect payments to stay the same it is not always that simple!

:mad:Its now been 9 + Weeks ans still nothing from Tax Credits this is so annoying anybody else been waiting this long ?

Yes, this will be my 13th week that I am entering since I renewed by phone and I have still heard nothing.

I am going to phone this week to give them one last chance to get it done or else I am going to my MP. This wait is passed what is acceptable even taking into account that they are busy....not to mention how riled I get when people are renewing and their claim is done and dusted in a week.

Mine is now 9 weeks tomorrow also. I phoned last Monday and the man I spoke to said he would put in an email request to look at my claim (presumably from the dept who deal with this part) as it had now passed the "deadline". He then stated it could take up to 2 more weeks for them to actually look at it. I asked if they needed any extra information etc and he said no they had all the information required it had just not been done.
So have got until next Monday to wait for the "new" 2 week deadline!!

Its not my first claim, but I have had a letter asking to provide quite a lot of evidence for Jan- April this year. I have now sent it so hopefully my claim will be sorted soon. Its normally sorted really quickly with no problems.

Yes I have Clara and they just say that 'they are busy and can't give me a new deadline date'.

I have asked if they need any more info from me, if it has went to a specialist team, if there is anything they think is dodgy (not that I am a dodgy person but I was racking my brains for reasons!) and I have been told that no, nothing like that...'it's just unfortunate it's taking so long' (you don't say I say back).

The last time I phoned as well I was told that there has not been a new deadline date set.

My claim is straightforward...single claim, no childcare and claim WTC/CTC. Have been claiming TC for 5 years now and this is the first time I have ever had an issue.

Every morning I optimistically check my online banking thinking that there will be a payment from them (not my usual weekly one) and every morning I am disappointed.

It's not like I am expecting a huge one off payment from them (I usually get £100 or so) but it's now the bloody principle of it.

I hope you get yours sorted quick when you send back all the info they need:)

Why are you in such a rush for it to be done? As long as you are still getting your normal payments why would you be riled and why would you waste the time of an mp?

Because I need my entitlement papers to show my income to a third party.

And I don't see it as a waste of my local MP's time. Something we will have to agree to differ on.
