my hubby's estimated wage for the year 2011-12 was £21,000 the same as the previous year
we had a very bad year and infact his actual wage from his p60 was £6322
i rung to renew on saturday after recieving my renewal pack and gave them the sum from his p60
as it is so much lower will i end up owing them or them owing me
if they owe me,do i get paid a lump sum?
im sorry for all the questions,i find it very confusing
can you tell lol0 -
Well it's almost 9 weeks since I renewed....to say my patience is wearing thin is putting it mildly!!!
I spoke to them and there is no issue with my claim, they don't need any more info, isn't been selcted for a random check etc etc
The advisor tried to say that they were 'thousands of people' renewing at this time to which I acknowledged but pointed out it was hardly fair that I am waiting and I am hearing of people who are phoning to renew after me and they have their new award within a matter of days. I would be more tolerant if it was a 'first come first served' kinda thing instead of the operator having no reason for me and metaphorically shrugging her shoulders.
Naturally there is no timescale on when it actually will get done *sigh*0 -

You can phone on Saturday? Brilliant - might do that then once I find all the guff I need. Had a panic attack wondering why my SMP was higher for one year with fewer weeks than the following year with more weeks. I finally remembered I only got full salary for 4 months and the normal SMP for 5 months which accounts for it. Sometimes I wonder if I haven't lost the plotNo one can make you feel inferior without your consent ~ Eleanor Roosevelt0 -

Depending on the number of children you have, they may owe you a few thousand pounds!
Income is £15,000 lower so tax credits could be £6,000 higher based on a 41% withdrawal rate but there is a floor (not a flaw but there may be one of those too) somewhere in the calculation but I would still expect maybe £3k due to you for last year?0 -

Why would you think that?!! Surely you must see that you have been receiving an amount as the HMRC thought your household income was £21K....so it makes sense that if you have had less coming into the house then you would be entitled to more benefit!
How have you managed to run a house and keep a family of 5 on 6 grand a year?!!:eek:0
