Just applied for the ASDA card and got accepted with £2.5k limit and 0% balance transfer for 1 year
. This means I can transfer the money I spent on my holiday onto it and I can then concentrate on my overdraft. I will also transfer about £700 from another card when I get it through and then ensure it is paid off within the 12 month period. I added DD to it as I intend to continue using this card as it pays 1% cashback when used in ASDA and 0.5% interest when used elsewhere. I often send DD for my shopping and this means she can also use the card so I can get the cashback. I will make sure that any spends are paid off in full each month and it will only be used for shopping. I will actually set up a monthly standing order to make sure the balance transfer is paid off in time. This will be about £185 per month which is quite a lot but will focus me.
Spent today doing housework so house is all shiny, 2 loads of washing done and all ironing done. I'm back to work tomorrow and although not looking forward to it at least when I am in work I don't eat as much or spend as much so that'll be a good thing ( trying to convince myself here as just CBA going ).
I counted my change today and I have £40 but I will keep it for a month where I will struggle with my targets. It will be soon anyway no doubt a target is steep and I am low in funds. Oh well as I've said before I love a challenge  so bring it on5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60

I found out a couple of hours ago that one of my workmates has died. I am in bits. He was climbing Ben Nevis for charity yesterday and dropped dead on the ascent. He has 2 kids one just starting secondary school and a younger one. His wife works with us as well but I don't know her as well. I am shattered. He had invited me to climb with him today but thank God I didn't. Such a loss5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60

Worst day ever in work today. Was so so quiet. Everyone was in shock. Couldn't look at each other or there were tears. Just terrible. Am so so sad about it all and miss him already.
I went food shopping again tonight:eek:. Beginning to think I have a problem. I'm joking, I went to Aldi as I had a £5 voucher if I spent £40. Unfortunately I spent £71.64 . Never mind we now have tonnes of food in and should get through most of August with minimum spends. I got a good few meals. Both freezers choc a bloc and cupboards heaving. Filled the car with petrol as well. I get paid on Wednesday and have £400 extra this month as we got our bonus. I need the majority of that though as bribed DS with his exams and results are due next week. Could potentially cost me a fortune. Never mind it'll be worth it if he has done well. Fingers crossed.

Thanks guys. Work was a bit better today and at least we were able to talk to each other and even had a wee laugh. Some folks in the office dont know him that well but I have worked with him for many years and am very fond of him. Am still gutted but life goes on. We have our monthly charity day tomorrow in work which is going ahead so that'll pick everyone up. It is for breast cancer which is close to our hearts as 3 women in the work have survived this terrible disease. I have made 2 gingerbreads tonight and also 2 dozen cupcakes. I have iced them with an icing bag with pink buttercream and I must say they look fab for a first attempt. I am well pleased with them.
Got my price for my gutters and it's £800 . TBH it's a good price as I want upvc which is more expensive and I have 3 sides to do. I am also getting my down pipes renewed and fascia's and soffits . I have £400 bonus and I will need to just not overpay for the rest of it and no savings this month either. Not bothered though as it is essential as I am getting water penetration and I need to get it sorted or it will become a much more expensive problem. It will probably be the end of August before I have any real idea of where I am debt wise and the true way forward.
DD and I have a plan though. She is going to save really hard over the next 18 months for her deposit for her first property. She will hopefully pick up something cheaply with potential. When it is done we intend to move into it and get my house renovated. That means new kitchen, bathroom, heating, downstairs loo ( if possible) and flooring and decor throughout. It will get done much easier and more quickly if we move out so I have a target to get rid of the debt and it is 2 years so that this can be a possibility. It will be amazing if I can manage this. It will also help DD sell her house if it is furnished whilst she sells it so it's a win win for everyone. I do love a plan

Evening all. Busy couple of days. Had my friend's wee daughter here tonight making cup cakes and she loved it. My brother has a charity day tomorrow and he wanted some made for that. Seems I am now the family expert . Must admit they looked pretty good and she is away with a few for her Dad etc so she is well chuffed.
Had a collection today for my workmate and everyone was queuing up to give cash so hopefully a good few pounds to help his wife out over this period as it is a very expensive time.
Had to get a few bits from ASDA tonight so yet another £29 spent on shopping . Hopefully not need anything else though.
Was at aqua aerobics tonight and it was hard going. I returned to the slimming club last night after 3 weeks off and I put on 10lb . !!!!!! I could have eaten a baby and put on less . So back on the straight and narrow today but was a real struggle making those cup cakes and must confess to licking a couple of spoons.
So £1500 has been transferred from my BOS CC onto ASDA card so most of holiday debt now on 0%. I will hopefully get the cards through soon and I will use it the rest of the month to keep my overdraft at a minimum and also start earning cashback. So all is good and my roof is getting done on Sunday which will settle my mind a bit. Hope everyone is well xx5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60

Evening folks. Thank God it's Friday. Been quite a week.Busy weekend ahead again as tomorrow DS and I have 2 holiday lets to clean and then on Sunday my gutters etc are being fitted so that will be an early start.
No spend today and hopefully many more this month. I am going to try and absorb as much of the gutters cost as I can and also the money I will need to give DS for any good results he gets for his exams next week.So if my overdraft doesn't increase by too much this month then I will be very happy. I'll just do my best but there will be no overpayments this month but my house will be water tight.

What a day again. Sometimes I am glad I am walking in my shoes and not someone else's. I told you guys about my workmate who died last week, well his wife works with us as well and her wee Mum was found dead this morning. We are all stunned and devastated again. Bad enough losing your husband but to lose your Mum 1 week later  and those poor kids. That's their Dad and their Granny within 7 days.
I'm feeling guilty about moaning about having no money. At least we are all safe, well and we will be fed and watered regardless. I am sad again tonight but things like this drive me on and make me more determined. I am more determined to get healthy and to get my life back so that money doesn't rule me and my family any more.
I'm down down down tonight so am away to dust myself down, get a good sleep and start again tomorrow5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60
