Just made a delicious low fat, cheap and extremely tasty dinner. It was lush and I am stuffed.
I made a potato tortilla ( as I was eating them in Spain and loved them) and it was yummy and also chicken and pasta with arrabiatta sauce. I overdid the chilli a wee bit but was still delicious. Pasta is cheap and I used passatta and garlic etc that I had in. I had leftover cooked chicken and used that to liven it up. Totally delicious but I imagine my breath is reeking.
NSD today as I haven't gone out other than the garden as it has been very mixed weather here today. Stoating rain one minute and blazing sunshine the next. I think summer is over folks. Well here in Scotland anyway.

Afternoon folks. Bit of a spendy day for me today unfortunately. Had dentist this morning and was £10.20 for that. Then too my wee Aunty for lunch and was £12 for that. Went into M&S for flowers for my wee Aunty and for my other wee Aunty who I also visited and spent £32.01 . I am now officially banning myself from there. I bought 2 bunches of flowers, 3 packs of sweets, 3 boxes chocs ( thank you gifts) meringue nests, satsumas, apples and cold meat. I then forgot I had bought the meat and left it in a warm car for 3 hours so I am not too sure if it will be okay to eat or not  Eejit that I am. I love M&S cold meat and as you get 3 packs for £6 I reckon it is a good buy as every single bit gets eaten whereas if I buy cheaper stuff it ends up in the bin.
Major thunder and rain here just now. I can hardly see out of the window the rain is so heavy. I hope it goes away as the local folk festival is on this weekend and a lot of it is outdoors and will be ruined if it's this wet. Also we are hoping to do a car boot on Saturday morning as well. DD will not need to do it for me anymore as I can do the cleaning job tomorrow instead of Saturday as guests have left early.
I'm meant to be going to aqua aerobics tonight but will be going nowhere if this weather doesn't get any better. I need to look into the cost of a monthly membership for swimming and classes as I will be £20 per month just for 1 class.
I also dropped off money to the credit union for my aunty today and am going to look into resurrecting my account again. This apparently is one of the cheapest ways to borrow so I might just not save for my holiday in May and get a loan instead and use the money meantime to pay off my higher interest debts. Again, some thinking to be done.

Hey millionaire,
I read your diary from beginning to end the other day and loved it! You are so inspirational and I'm glad you are finding some time for yourself now that you no longer need to care for your Mum and your children are grown up.
I am crossing my fingers about your gutters - this is awful! Part of our joint debt (not in my sig, see diary) was from some shared work done to our chimney which ended up being much more expensive than originally expected and somehow we ended up with the bulk of the cost and ended up with a charge on our property (now lifted, but we had to pay £100+ for the priveledge of the charge being lifted!).
Are you talking about the W..man festival this weekend? My OH is playing at this (won't say for what band but he is). Its not looking good for the campers!
We have a credit union here but remember you have to be in one and pay in for a while before you can borrow from them so you might need to research this.

Oh God love you reading all my drivel. Cheers though. It's nice to know folks actually look at it.
It's just a local folk festival down at Loch Lomond this weekend but I have attended for years and try and go as often as I can over the weekend. It brings loads of excitement to the area and you always meet folks you haven't seen in years at it. I love it and over the years have converted many friends into attending it as well. The kids can go as well during the day so that's great as well. Used to always manage to take my Mum down at some point and she would have a wee shandyso I will have a wee shandy for her this weekend. DD is old enough to join me now so I am going on Saturday afternoon after the car boot sale with her.
No news re gutters yet so it is on the shelf marked 'worry about it later' in my head and I will deal with it when I need to. I'm just concerned about getting money for cider for the weekend first.
Life is very different now that Mum is away and other than missing her loads life is pretty good.

Phoned credit union and that's my account reactivated. I have asked for a standing order form to be sent out as well so instead of saving £150 per month for holiday I will save £20 to credit union. I will get a smallish loan at Christmas time and then get one for our holiday. The interest is lower than any of the cards I am paying so that's the route I will take. It means in future that if I need cheap debt then I can get it from them rather than the bank.5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60

Argh!! Spent another £49 in ASDA tonight but had to buy a house warming gift for Saturdays party and I couldn't resist a white linen jacket for me that was reduced to £8 . I shouldn't be allowed out :rotfl::rotfl:5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60

I didn't know the site was down
. Just noticed it's back though
.
It was quite good though as I read a couple of diaries and feel all motivated and realised I am really quite lucky as my light at the end of the tunnel is visible and achievable whereas some guys on here are in dire straits. Such a shame. It makes me angry. My DD is 19 and the amount of carp she is receiving offering her credit cards, catalogues, loans etc is just disgusting. Hopefully after seeing me struggling all these years she will be sensible and never do these things.
Anyway, I did a car boot sale yesterday and made about £40 profit. Had to pay £10 for the pitch but it was very close to home and there were loads of buyers. Some folks just take the pi$$ though and want things for nothing. A wee woman bought one of DD's china dolls and she was just in love with it. She came back and gave DD another £2 for her and I gave her another doll. She obviously had some learning difficulties the wee soul but she drove her motorised wheelchair all around the place showing off her lovely doll - Bless. So although I made £45 I also spent about £35 at the folk festival BUT I am happy with that as at least it was extra money earned rather than out of my funds.
I also earned £87.50 for cleaning job for this week and next so I have popped that into my bank account to help with overdraft.
Am not quite sure what to concentrate on. Overdraft costs £1 per day but am not in it every day of month so will probs cost me about £15 per month but I absolutely hate being overdrawn. It really worries me. So to be honest I think I am answering myself and I will tackle the overdraft first. It may not be the most moneysaving option but it is definitely the most beneficial one for my mindset. So the overdraft it is. I'm hoping to clear it in 2 months.
I have really let things slip since my Mum died and I just need to be thankful that I didn't go on a mad spree, other than the holiday, and that my debt has actually reduced but I am focused again and raring to go so hold onto my coat tails as I am ready to fly5 Year plan.
