  • Unless your friend realises she needs some help or at least apologises you're probably right to stay away. You've enough to deal with. I can sympathize as mental issues mixed with drink and possibly stress can lead to some really bad and unexpected behaviour she may be too mortified to call you.

    Take care xx

  • KP she should be too mortified to call me as her behaviour was shocking. I have never experienced anything like it in my life. We will see. It would be a shame to end the friendship but TBH I just can't be bothered with the effort required to keep her happy.

Today I have gone with a team from work to the local children's hospice to help out. I am exhausted as we were gardening all day and it was warm. Feel so good to have helped them out though and I am seriously thinking of volunteering once per month for a couple of hours on a Sunday afternoon. I'll see. Such a beautiful and peaceful place.

Only spent £2 today as I bought some juice. Going to pics with DD tonight to see the Great Gatsby but that's already paid so hopefully a wee cheap day today :D. Anyway I am off for a wee snooze before I make the dinner

  • Evening all. Hope everyone has had a good weekend. Mine has been way too short :). DS was away this morning on a school trip to Manchester. He is going to Alton Towers and the Trafford centre. I gave him some spending money but also a lecture on the fact that he should have been saving instead of relying on me. I got a roll of the eyes and a 'yes Mum' :rotfl: so I don't reckon he was listening so much. So I have been up since silly o'clock and am now knackered.:rotfl:.

I had the bright idea of gutting DS's room in his absence and Dear God what a minging mess. I had to use bleach and a scourer on his door as obviously he had spilled a bottle of irn bru over it . A whole corner and under his bed was obviously assigned as the bin areas and they were choc a bloc. Sweetie papers, cans, bottles, paper etc etc. I found about 30 socks . His clothes were all in a bundle on the bottom of his wardrobe. It's a good job he is away to be honest as I could have choked him. I then remembered all those poor kiddies from hospice on Friday and just thanked my lucky stars that he is fit and healthy and making a fine old mess :).

So been an expensive weekend although I haven't really bought anything but hey ho that's just the way it goes sometimes.

You deserve a medal for venturing into DS's room to clean it up. Hope you have recovered from it, guess by the end of the week it wont look as clean. Like you said as long as he is fit and healthy we should count our blessings.x

I got it at the cheapest price I could and I don't intend buying too many clothes as I have quite a few things already so it will be done on the cheap but I am so so so so so so so looking forward to it :D

  • Have an amazing time. If it takes you a little while longer to be debt free you can have the company of us lot a little longer. :)
    Trying to shift that debt!
  • SBO I knew there would be a positive in there somewhere :D

Well my DD is in Florida. She landed last night and woke me to skype me and show me all round her villa. Her eyes were dancing with excitement and it was such a joy to see. Made all the money I spent on her worthwhile. Miss her terribly already though but thank God for technology and she can keep in touch with me :D.

Now wondering how much spending money I will be needing for 1 week. We are going half board but I am not a big drinker. I will not be going mad with spending but I don't want to do it on a shoestring either. Am going to have a look through the forums for advice on this xx
