Sorry to hear about your friend, hope they have caught it early and she will be fine. They have so much success with BC nowadays.
The year my Mum died I really struggled with Christmas so I understand how you feel. I couldn't get in to the gift buying at all, I spent hours walking around the shops looking at nothing and buying even less.:j Proud Member of Mike's Mob :j0 -
Well I went shopping today and totally and utterly overspent. Spent £500 in Argos alone but hey the kids will be thrilled to bits.
I got up this morning to a wee voice whispering in my ear 'right Lady get the tree up and sort yourself out' I said 'righto Mum' and tree was up before breakfast. Both kids have been upset today though as we were going through mum's deccies and choosing ones to use in here. So tree has half her baubles etc on it. I bought her a beautiful ferris wheel a couple of years ago and it has pride of place on my fireplace so we are surrounded by her and it feels nice. I feel her smiling as Christmas was her very very favourite time of year. I will go up and see her tomorrow with her flowers and put her snowmen decorations in for her

Good on your Mum for getting you in to the Christmas spirit. We all have some bits from Mum's decorations that we chose to add to our haul. It always makes me smile as I unwrap my decorations and remember where they came from as I collect them on my travels or they have been given to me by special people.:j Proud Member of Mike's Mob :j0

I agree re the decorations. Also, I bought a beautiful gold butterfly tree decoration when my Dad passed away. (He used to say butterflies were people from Heaven coming to say hello). This goes on the tree, just under the star at the top, every year to help have him near us at Christmas XxDebts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

Aww nice sentiments all round. Busy day ahead today so I better get my a into g. Going to be an expensive one too. Karting, McD's and no doubt copious juices for 3 thirsty boys . DS is 15 tomorrow. He's my baby. He happens to be a 5'9" baby but my baby nevertheless.I've spent about £150 on him on gifts and it looks like nothing but I know he will be mega excited. Am looking forward to spending a wee day with him and his pals. Well maybe looking forward to it is a bit strong but it should be fun. Noisy but fun :rotfl:. I'll let you know later xx5 Year plan. Hello folks. Well Christmas must be coming as the bowl from my ice cream maker is in the freezer :rotfl:. Spent a fortune and am actually looking forward to after Christmas so I can start money saving again as I feel so guilty. Was like a woman possessed in asda today and even ought stuffing for the turkey. Only thing is we are having beef and ham lol. I hate stuffing as well.
Went up to the hospital today to see my friend's dad as he is a bit unwell. Such a shame to be going through this at Christmas. So not much to report and all is quiet and just waiting on the new year to start over again5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60

Busy wee morning whilst waiting on the engineer from virgin(who was only an hour late ). Baked individual chocolate fudge cakes as a trial run for Christmas day and nom nom nom. Made spiced buns, 2 madeira cakes and 2 gingerbreads. Small cakes iced and in boxes for work. Madeira and gingerbreads will get halved and frozen. Will need to do more baking next week and have to sit and do a menu for Christmas day and make sure I have everything I need in. DD will stop on Friday for hols so she will be able to get me anything I need on Christmas eve and I will leave the cleaning to her and DS so that when I come in on Christmas eve I can concentrate on the dinner and baking the puddings.
I'm getting quite excited now that I am almost organised. Need to do a wee list as I still have a few things to get.5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60
