  • Well I must be psychic. Clutch has gone in car . Was on way home yesterday and it completely went at a major junction. Kids and I pushed the car over to the side of the road and AA came and towed me to the garage. Bloody car!!

Went out for dinner last night for my Auntie's 80th but it was just awful for me as I just missed my Mum so much. It was her older sister's night.I bailed out as soon as I feasibly could and then went to my cousin's 25th wedding anniversary party. It was carp as I was just not in the mood and no booze to cheer me up and get me in the mood as liver has been playing up really badly. Really carp night as I was way down mood wise.

I slept for 11 hours last night and got up at lunch time :o. I haven't done that in years but obviously I needed it. Got ready and went out with 2 friends for some browsing around Jenners and a good old blether. We went up to the cemetery on way home so a much nicer day. I reckon I am just not ready for all the jolly jolly stuff yet although I am ok the majority of the time. Not yet ready to party. It's only 7 weeks since Mum died so as per usual I am expecting too much of myself. I need to take it easier.

I made a beef joint in my slow cooker tonight and it was amazing. So juicy and tender. Fell to bits and kids and I loved it. I had put some water and an oxo in with it and it is the best beef I have ever tasted although it was impossible to slice as it just fell apart. Lush :D and healthy with the baby potatoes and cauliflower we had along with it. Sugar free jelly in fridge for later.

I hope everyone is having a nice weekend xx

    NOT !!:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
Probs going to cost me about £800. Bang goes my bonus. So annoyed but as I said before at least for once in my life I have the money to pay it cash. My car is 7 years old but I really need it to last until next summer as I have a year of my loan to go and just cannot even think of a car loan until then.

I am going to get right on track now as I need need need to get rid of this debt as I am sick to death of it running my life.

So I am yet again going to think of a plan of action. I'll get into my spreadsheet and see what I am left with on a monthly basis. I need plans, I need lists, lots of lists :rotfl::rotfl:

  • Aww hugs. Our car is palying up too but cant find out what. Tried a local guy but no luck so need to wait till Vauxhall can take a look. £50 just to hook it up to a machine to diagnose  Will get a solution then move it someone cheaper. Its drivable but not fun.

I love the crazy poem too :D

Well fabby news re car. Gear box was okay and total cost was £259.03 :D:D:D:D:D:D. In comparison to what I thought it would be, I was very happy.

DD has nearly finished painting my bedroom and is making a smashing job of it. It is just magnolia but tonight I ordered a large sticker in gold

It will look fab :D. My bedroom will be perfect then. I am desperate to get it back to normal. Next room to be tackled will be the bathroom :p.

I am still spending too much money but I am trying to stop. I have put my name down for 3 nights overtime next week so fingers crossed I manage to get that. It is a slightly different job from mine but I am sure I can hack it. Would be great if I could as they have been getting overtime for weeks and hopefully I could get some too for a few weeks. That would get me on my feet again.

I hope everyone is well and all cars are happy xx

  • My car is utterly miserable - haha. Glad you are feeling happy in yourself. Your bedroom sounds like a true haven. x
    Trying to shift that debt!
  • My bedroom is the size of a large egg box :D. I have a small double bed in it with a bedside cabinet and that's the width of it :o. I have a wardrobe built in at the end of it and that is my bedroom ta dah lucky me :rotfl:. Thank god I have the lounge, It is cute though and plenty space for me. I gave the kids the bigger rooms as they need them for all their 'stuff'.But I am looking forward to it being my wee haven :D.

I have a credit card which has a 0% ending this month and lo and behold I came in tonight and one of my empty cards is offering 9 months at 0% :D how cool is that. Unfortunately the limit is £1k short and I was knocked back foran increase but hey ho.So I am moving £1800 and will pay off the £1k asap to minimise the interest payments.

I have been really naughty and have added £200 to my cc debt. This is down to getting theatre tickets for friends and myself and then spending the cash :o:o:o. So I am very very bad BUT I think it may be a good thing as it has shocked me a bit that I slipped so easily into old habits and I have been sorting and shredding last night and tonight.I've also updated my snowball for the first time in weeks. I am now raring to go again on the money saving front as I need to get rid of this £1k ASAP as I am VERY reluctant to pay any more interest than is absolutely necessary on it and it is at 17.9%. So it's got to go afore I get hives from paying too much interest.

Missing my mum loads and loads and loads just now. I think it is really hitting me now that I will never ever see her again and I hate that thought. It has been nice not having to run about mad all the time but now that time is passing the reason for me having time to myself is becoming way too apparent :(. Never mind I just need to get on with it.

So the weekend is here. I have about 1.5 hrs cleaning work tomorrow. I will then clean my house and hopefully DD will finish my room. I will try and get to church in the evening and then I can have Sunday to completely chill and maybe go a walk with the kids if it is dry :). Happy weekend everyone xx

Don't be too hard on yourself, it really is a tough time learning how to cope without the most important person in your life. I still refuse to consider that I will never see my Mum again and it has been six years, there just has to be somewhere after this. I still miss her at big family events, but it does get easier.

I added £2k to my debts in the 6 months after she died , I just was not thinking straight and wasn't shopping savvy at all :(

Glad the car turned out to be cheaper than expected and great news on the 0% deal :D And overtime in the mix too :T See, you are doing way better than you think ;)
