    Hi MIT

Just to say im still here lurking and cheering you on :j

Garden sounds great and like you say the longer you left it the more it would have cost
I think its a tough balance to be very frugal but also have a life- we all need something to look forward to even something small otherwise life would be a drudge :o

Hope you have a fab weekend im sure it will do you good to let your hair down and have some fun. Hope the weather will be kind to you I have only ever been to Scotland once and it rained- alot!!!!! :rotfl:
    O/S weight loss 2.5 /10lbs (11st 8.0- 08.02)
  • savesummore it always rains a lot in Scotland :p

Just back a couple of hours ago from my weekend away. I am like a burst ball. Totally shattered and ache all over. I forget sometimes what age I am :rotfl:. So any further weekends away will have to have the guarantee of at least 4* accommodation and decent food. Living on burgers knackers my liver and I was up all last night with that and the bed settee in our flat was broken so my friend and I ended up on a VERY thin mattress on the floor. Not good for 47 year old bones :rotfl:. Still had a great time but might be time to hang my hat up for that type of weekend :o.

Good news though was that I didn't overspend too badly as we just ate chippies and burgers and drank the booze we had taken with us other than a few drinks in the pubs.

September is a very busy month though so I will really need to be careful. Lots of nice days and nights out in store and about half of it paid upfront but still a fair bit of expense to be put out.

My Mum's headstone has been done whilst I was away and looks lovely. I was very tearful seeing her name there but I am pleased she now belongs there with my Dad :).

    I hope everyone is wellxx

Glad you enjoyed your weekend MIT, a nice soak, early night in your own bed and youll feel much better. Am pleased you have lots of nice things planned for September, i know you want to get the debt paid off but there has to be some play time and you deserve it.

Its amazing the sentiment we place on gravestones isnt it. Its nice though. I went to my dads in scotland, a three and a half hour drive from me and cried because it was dirty! To think none of the close (distance wise) relatives had kept it tidy.

    xx
  • Aww that's a shame princess. We got theirs professionally cleaned and it looks fab. Might get it done every couple of years. It's so sad when you see graves neglected and that's why I want cremated.

  • Just looked at my accounts and I am skint already and it's only the 3rd . Shocking ,DD will be giving me about £300 mid month but I need need need to sort myself out or I will end up owing loads of money again and no way can I go through all this yet again. I am joining the slimming club tomorrow night as this problem with my liver is just getting worse and I need to sort it out once and for all or I will end up really sick. I saw pics from the weekend and I am horrified at how I look. I am so heavy and it cannot go on.

Lots of things to sort out and most of it in my head. I need to gain control. Notebook coming out to start spending diary again :D. So stay with me and make sure I stay on the straight and narrow:p

  • :rotfl:Savesummore. I didn't say swimming I said Slimming. OMG I would be a beached whale in a swimsuit . Scary thought :rotfl:

Well that's slimming club joined. I'm not even going to feel guilty about it as I feel it is an essential expense tbh as I have just got to get this weight off. My DD joined with me as she has a couple of stones she wants to lose. She doesn't look heavy though as she is tall but she is not happy with her muffin top. So considering she has had no wages yet then guess who paid both joining fees ??Well that would be me :o

Spent £65 in Morrisons last night but am hoping that will do us for about a week, I just cannot get my shopping bill down below about £70 per week on average. I am quite frugal and I also cook from scratch but I do probably spend about £5 on treats each week. I justify this though as we will be paying off debt for such a long time that to cut down more is not sustainable,

I've had to put the heating on tonight as I am freezing cold. Nice and cosy now and washing drying nicely on the radiators. Might be feeling the cold as mother nature is visiting for the first time in months. Doc told me that this was due to stress but I was hoping menopause :rotfl:but maybe doc was right. We'll see if she comes again in 4 weeks. Bit of a shock to my system though and I am shattered.

DD has half emulsioned my bedroom and will finish it by the weekend. Nothing exciting, just magnolia walls and white paintwork but looks lovely and fresh :D.

I hope you are all well xx

  • Ha ha funny though.

Well day 3 of healthy eating and DD and I are still on the straight and narrow :D.I have not spent any money since doing my shopping the other night except for DS's lunch money so I am happy about that.

Think my clutch may be going and that will cost me a few hundred to get fixed. I'm gutted. I got £350 into my account today from Mum's money so no doubt will end up paying it all out to get car fixed up but on the positive side at least I have the money to do it for once.

I'm sitting watching the paralympics and am in awe. Unbelievable bravery. I wish I had watched more but I will be glued tonight.

Wee cleaning job to do tomorrow and then my Auntie's 80th dinner and my cousin's 25th wedding anniversary party at night time. Busy weekend. I'm meeting my friends on Sunday as well so I better get my butt in gear tomorrow and get some housework done after we get in from work.Looking forward to some nice times though. I hope you all have something nice to look forward to this weekend x
