  • Good morning. I just treated myself with my birthday money :D. Got a cardigan, top, 10 prs knickers and a pair of crop trousers. Managed to get a 20% discount so that was even better :D. I then bought the necklace I had hinted for and never got :rotfl:. It's gorgeous. It's swarovski crystal and is a 4 leaf clover. I love it.Just need a couple of bras now and I will be okay for the summer. Might get another pair of sandals but I'll see if weather improves. It feels strange to spend so much money on myself but it was rather nice :D.

Got the meeting later with the medical team and I am a bit nervous as I have no idea what it is about. I feel sick that they will send mum home as I have no idea how we will cope with her now. Oh well I'll deal with that if I have to. Right now I need to get some ironing done :(

  • well done for the clothes shopping. You sound kitted out a treat.

Good luck with your meeting, its sometimes difficult to hear the prognosis of medical people as they are so subjective, and they are talking about people we love. Unless its good news but you can see your mum isnt well and thats why there is this dread. Once its spoken it makes it more real

Take care it it wasnt a purposeful abandonment - just so you know. I was just being all a bit busy!
    Trying to shift that debt!
  • Meeting went okay. Okay in the sense that the medics were very honest with us and sh^t in the sense that on top of all of mum's ailments we know about her heart is failing :(. She looks the best she has all week as well so this was a bit of a curve ball. Doc said though that if her heart gives out it will be very quick and she will not be aware. This was the point where I gave way to the tears. They are bringing in occupational therapists and physios to see if they can increase her confidence a bit as she is panicking when she gets moved from the bed onto the commode. I am sad tonight, Take care xx

Happy belated birthday, and glad you got some nice stuff with your money.

Very sorry to hear about your Mum though, that must have been a huge shock for you. ((hugs)). Take it easy tonight and look after yourself. xx

  • Good morning. Thanks guys xx

Smile plastered onto my face again. Backside firmly kicked ;). We have a wedding today and I am going up to the hospice to sit and watch it with my mum as the church has a webcam. The hospice have said we can go into one of their single rooms so we can watch in peace. Mum's bed will just get wheeled in. I was joking with the staff that I would be bringing in some champagne and they said I was to wire in and they would make some cupcakes. How great is that !! They are absolutely wonderful and I cant praise them highly enough.

I am getting peed off yet again at the CSA. My ex is still paying off his arrears at £25 per week, am I getting them?? No I am not unless I call up and ask for them. Even then I am told that the money is stuck in another account and will take 15 days to get to me. Every time I call them it costs me nearly £2 for the call. I will wait until I go back to work next week and call from there. So annoying as that is potentially £100 per month towards my debt .

Anyway, hopefully today will be a nice day. I'll iron this morning, see mum this afternoon and go to wedding reception tonight :D. Take care all xx

Hi MIT, I was sorry to read about your Mum's latest developments. I hope you've both had a nice day watching the wedding x

  • We did skintfoodie although she struggled to see it. She has stressed me big time as she is talking about coming home now and I have no idea how I am going to manage her if she does. It is very difficult to move her when the need arises and she is panicking every time she has to come out of bed. She had a really bad time this morning so has said if things do not improve then she wants to go home. I have explained to her that things have gotten worse for her as she has just had another infection but she is convinced that the moving will be better if she is at home. They have popped on a special mattress today to see if it helps with her bedsores and maybe then things will improve. I am demented with her to be honest. I dont want her to come home as she cannot get the care she needs there :mad:.

Anyway, we are off to a wedding tonight and I am not having any alcohol as I strung as tight as a drum and I would end up in tears and it's my mum's sisters boy who is getting married so that's the last thing I want to do. Grr I hate being an adult

  • I'm okay really I just wanted a wee rant.

Well wedding wasn't the best I have ever been to. I must be getting old as the band were too loud to talk and I think one of the good things about weddings is getting a wee blether with family and friends you haven't seen in ages. They were really good though even if too loud and I could have listened to them all night.

I'm going up tonight to see mum as her sisters are up this afternoon. I was working this morning doing the wee cleaning job with DD and I am going to clear up my place this afternoon. I want everywhere done so I can do DS's room tomorrow before he returns on Monday and wrecks the place again :p. I earned £35 this morning and DD gave me £15 digs so I paid £50 off of my Bank of Scotland card as this is the one I am concentrating on just now as I only have 2 months left on my interest free for that. I need to start looking for a new 0% deal to do a transfer as I'm not keen on paying any more interest :D. So I will head off now and get a move on with the housework :(
